Let's take the scenarios above and assume we win on the next throw after the stated series:
The chance of losing on one throw: 1/2
Total bet: $30 ($10 + $20).
Gross winnings on next throw: $40.
Net winnings: $10
The chance of losing twice in a row: 1/(2^2), or 1/4
Total bet: $70 ($10 + $20 + $40).
Gross winnings on next throw: $80.
Net winnings: $10
The chance of losing five times in a row: 1/(2^5), or 1/32
Total bet: $310 ($10 + ... + $160).
Gross winnings on next throw: $320.
Net winnings: $10
The chance of losing ten times in a row: 1/(2^10), or 1/1056
Total bet: $10,230 ($10 + ... + $5120).
Gross winnings on next throw: $10,240.
Net winnings: $10 I'm not a roulette player, and I prefer other casino games. I play from time to time when I have some time, and I like it. There are so many games and sites now, and it's easy to find something interesting. Recently, I read about casinos with $100 No Deposit Bonus, and now I'm "testing" one I read about. Here is the site https://casinosapproved.info/bonuses/no-deposit-casino-bonus/hundred-dollars/ where you can find out some detailed info about casinos, deposits, bonuses, and so on. It will help you if you're looking for something new to try.
Thanks for the info. I'm not an active roulette player, but I believe that it's possible to win if you know some strategies and, of course, if you have some luck.
The only way to win at roulette is to find a wheel that isn’t “true.” It happens very occasionally.
Otherwise, bet covering two-thirds of the table. When you lose, you lose twice as much, but this is your best approach for any given spin.
The only way I’ve ever won at Roulette was to use this approach and walk away quickly. Same with online sports gambling. Like take in-game live odds, like a home underdog in football that gets way down in the first quarter. But don’t keep betting. Make a profit, get the f out.
Roulette is just luck. Sports betting actually can be somewhat legit, whether that's through arbitrage or having your MIT math friend come up with an algorithm to pick winners that worked ~54% of the time on normal (-110) odds.

Gambling is all luck. You are right about arbitrage between books, if one has the means and resources to exploit it, like once upon a time having the fastest fiber optic line to a trading exchange (high frequency traders). But, assuming one doesn’t possess that access, using live odds gives the house less of an edge for the retail gambler.
There is no long-term winning strategy for roulette, other than finding a faulty wheel.
I did this as a computer simulation back in the old days in Fortran and a deck of IBM cards. I think 40% of the class went bust. Casino won't let you do this.
There are no winning strategies you need to study the game and understand its mechanics. Make smart bets and pay attention to your bankroll to avoid losing everything. I recommend playing in demo mode first, if you have such an opportunity.
The winning strategy for roulette is to always pick black, and double your bet each time. You have a 48% chance of winning, and while doubling your bet each time, you will net $1 per win.
Don't quadruple, because you still only net $1 per win, but you'll go broke quickly on a streak.
This strategy works so well that most casinos will kick you out after the third bet if they notice you're using it. Even online casinos will now ban people for using this trick..
You cannot win long term at roulette. Las Vegas' existence proves that.
Far better to simply play the stock market. It feeds your gambling addiction, you can be as risky as you want, and you have a MUCH better chance of actually making money.
