Why does everyone assume that if his first 5k was faster he would have run as fast for the other 5K segments? I have seen many races over the years that ended quickly BECAUSE they went out slower. It does not automatically mean that he would have broken 60.

Who actually believes that he could still close in 13:53 if he went out 30 seconds faster through 5k? I think that this was a glorified progression run for Rupp/Farah, and not a race until that last 10k or so. But who knows what saladbar was thinking...
