You do know if you hang back the first lap you have to destroy yourself more than anyone else on that last lap to catch up. To let everyone else go for the first 600 meters before making your move is gutsy. He ran two laps like everyone else, win is a win.

I absolutely agree with you that Robby's race was gutsy. What, is the only way you can prove your guts by going out with any insane pace that anybody in the race wants to try? The guy went from dead last to PR. There's no way that is not one ton o' guts from hell... A monster race. Brilliant.
You don't think it took guts to win? You don't think it took guts to run his own race and not go out too fast like most everyone else? I don't get what you mean.
You guys are all retarded with your Prefontaine mumbo-jumbo. Winning from the front is not any more impressive than winning from behind. If you run from the front it is because of one of two reasons:
1) You feel this is your best strategy to win the race. Jock likely thought a fast race would play into his hands. No one else is going to make it easy for him, so he has to go to the front.
2) You are an idiot and idolize Prefontaine. Due to this, you underperform in almost all races due to your need to lay it all out there.
Jock ran with guts to go out in 49.
Andrews ran with grit to dig in and go get him.
