My recollection is that Bush Sr. was a very good 400 runner while at Yale.

Both Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain were very good high jumpers while in college.

Bruce Dern was one of the first people to run around Lake Tahoe - 72 miles.

Just read somewhere Eric Segal, "Love Story," author ran a sub 3 hour Boston and ran it from 1955 to 1977.
