http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hasan_MahboobKenyan athletes made a point tonight. It may have taken us ten years to get to the top, make no mistake we have been putting our house in order. Now this is how the new decade gonna look like. We shall dominate like in the 80s and 90s. Just hope we don't get ticketed for overspeeding!!! Or be expelled to another planet!

Thank you.
You have to give it to Mehdin of Eritrea for fiercely taking a risk. IT was a great leap of faith and it paid off.
Bairu is actually Eritrean-Canadian, not Ethopian-Canadian

http://www.kimbia.net/athletes/bairu/Thanks but that means he is Ethiopian because Eritreans are Ethiopians. It was hived off out of Ethiopia. It is interesting how Ethiopians and Eritreans don't like each other-at least the ones I have met.

actually Dunbar was second best non african. Japanese guy beat him
The Japanese guy being Akinobu Murasawa. Some of the elders here might remember this thread about him from back in the day:
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?board=1&id=3262950&thread=3262773Good, but not great, run from him. If he actually spent some time running XC I imagine he'd do better.
I've always noticed that Ebuya is a bit of an anomaly in that he's sortof a "jacked" Kenyan. A few years ago, he was listed at 5'6"/145lbs (this wasn't from that sometimes inaccurate IAAF bio page). It looks like he's slimmed down some, but he reminds me more of the godfather of Kenyan running (Kip Keino), who was pretty buff for a Kenyan (5'9"/146lbs).
The guy is an animal. He should be running 12:45 for 5000m this summer and could take down Kenenisa's 5k world record by next summer. Only hope he doesn't move up the distance beyond 10k and that he stays healthy. He will force Kenny to move to the marathons.
