Despite the protests to the contrary, this issue (attractiveness of mates vs. age) has been studied. It is a fact that across cultures, men are most physically attracted to young females, and women are more attracted to older men.

Acting on your sex impulse is wrong because you would in fact break the law
In most healthy relationships the man is several years older
because of this it is a very sticky time for younger males between 18-25ish.
The law is ridiculous because it posits the notion that a girl who was just 17 a day earlier is now ready for the world or to be approached by a man of any age.
100 years ago it would have been seen as not a problem at all for a young girl to marry an older man, and it was actually quite beneficial for security reasons.
In many other countries, for eample Brazil, it is quite normal for an older man to date a very young woman, and vice versa.
People who get heated over this issue are not acting logically, and are going against their biological creed. They are mixing themselves in with societal sayings to make objective moral judgements tht are in fact bogus.
Just because some guy is not attracted does not make him any better then the one that is.
Sexual attractiveness and emtional attractiveness are completely different things
In conclusion, An attractive 15 year is desirable for sexual purposes, but is rarely desirable for reasons that make love long and lasting, therefore it is an imperfect law that usually protects innocents and is therefore worth keeping around and adhereing to in our society. Acting like there is a higher moral ground to not being sexually attracted is an empty assumption, acting on that attraction is deemed wrong in our society, and should be upheld for obvious reasons. 15 year olds are like kiddie rides, they may be fun, but you are probably too big to find it emjoyable for too long, so better left to that age group.
15=sexually attractive 15 also = rarely mature enough to truly enjoy a good relationship.
