I get that we are all jealous of those that run faster, win more, its natural. I get that we have all been bumped out of better sections by someone we are better then, or we believe we are better then. Though I think most of us are quick to forget the great section we were in that time we had a cold and ran like shit while 5 guys in the second section ran faster. But the reality is that the NCAA system is for developing athletes, mid season meets are to give athletes a chance to qualify for the championships. To force athletes to qualify for those meets as well not only creates an unrealistic system, it also hurts coaches abilities to develop their athletes over the long term and by extension hurts American distance running which is just finally getting back on its feet.

So stop bitching about something that works pretty well, stop bitching about people who are doing a good job. Start learning from them instead and start running the miles yourself, or coaching a local jr. high or high school team with an eye towards development. Instead of with an excuse about why so and so is beating your ass. Forget the 'they have this advantage or that advantage' bs, they are just doing a better job.
