Anyone ever completely recover from patella tendinosis?

I've had it for about six months now. I can get up to ~30mpw, but most runs have pain and discomfort. About once a week I'll have a run where I say "Forget this, not even worth it anymore" because it's so painful.

Usually if I do squats and lunges before a run, it helps a bunch. But, most runs are pretty miserable for the first 30 minutes until things warm up, then it becomes miserable, well, because running is that way. I just started cycling more and running less.

I wonder how eccentric exercises when standing on one leg can help to treat the knees? Because for me it is getting worse, inducing more pain. In my understanding that is because a big weight stands on one knee, damaging it more. "Excess weight puts added stress on joints, particularly knees, causing pain and worsening damage"

A good exercise is bend knee slightly then put all your weight on it

Reduce volume/intensity but keep running. Maybe shoot for one truncated workout a week if you’re trying to hang onto fitness. Avoid hills. Ice religiously after runs then ice a second time later in the day. Runner’s knee exercises every 3 days or so. Check out YouTube.

Assuming the pain is low to moderate. If you’re limping around, rest until you can execute the above measures.
