I thin Wheating could have a shot a 3:35-3:36, either this summer or next. Only time will tell.

Should have run PUSKEDRA!
I don't think Puskedra has mile speed. Once Wall got dinged, the options were Biwott, or McNamara or Klotz. Klotz has been suffering from asthma and has not run well lately. I believe Oregon may want to save the year for McNamara since he is just now rounding into shape after the injury. Biwott has been running very well lately...he was the best choice, but Wall's ding came so late that Biwott wasn't really geared toward running it. Still he did pretty well.
Hood made the Olympic 1500 Final in 92 at age 20. Niall Bruton was 2nd in cross as a Freshman, and ran 3:37 for 1500 in college. During that time, Arkansas had around 10 guys that could run under 3:42.5.....

In 1994 Graham Hood ran a 1:45.70 800m and a 3:36.52. Hood was on par with all of the runners of the present day, maybe even better.
Bunston peaked out at 3:41.39 in the 1500, not sure what year that was from.
If you want to read some good track articels on Bunston and Greg Anderson(Canadian kid who ran a 8:00 3 km in high school)
