How many times under 1:44? Under 1:43? Under 1:42? How many undefeated seasons?

Not much you can do about the Danish INS.
Where's the WR? Multiple undefeated seasons? Seven of the top ten marks of all tiem?

If best is measured in terms of gold medals its Snell - double the golds as Cruz
If best is measured in terms of time its Kipketer, with Coe 2nd
choose one of the above - you can't have it both ways or can't you understand this simple fact.
that is what you need to have to be an olympic champion and Wilson didn' have it. It's called BIG BALLS!!!
STOP STOP. PLZ LETS NOT TALK ABOUT LAB "DRUGGIE" RUNNERS!! MR. CRUZ WAS A NATURAL GOD MADE RUNNER. HE STILL BETTER THAN MR.SNELL. REMEMBER HE ALMOST GOT ANOTHER HIS SECOND GOLD IN SEOUL, IF WASN'T FOR THE EPO KING MR.ERENG, WICH BECAME CRIMINAL/RAPER LATER IN LIFE, AND MUST BE LOCKET UP RIGHT NOW, WHILE MR. CRUZ IN ENJOYING THE SUNNY SAN DIEGO BEACHES.
Thank you for throwing your credibility out the window.

We all know who should be locked up. Give it up - you are just so ignorant and Joaquim would be embarrassed to have an idiot like you vouching for him.

JOAQUIM STILL THE BEST......."A TRUE OLYMPIC CHAMPION!!!"
Sorry, you're repetition of the same statement doesn't change the facts. It's clear that Kipketer's citizenship change to Denmark took away his greatest opportunity for an Olympic gold medal.
Cruz had one perfect season and one near perfect. Kipketer had three perfect seasons and three more near-perfect. That, and the depth of his performances, say it all.
How "perfect" can a runner be, without a Olympic gold medal?

Perfect has no variation. Any deviation from perfection and you're something less than perfect. Perfect meaning that he won all races contested/available to him.

Three years without losing a race -- three perfect seasons. I can only find one for Cruz. Please offer more up if I am missing something.
Watch these two World Championship races, and tell me that he still would not have won in the '96 Olympics. He did not lose 800s in his prime as the poster above has shown.
NO. OLYMPIC GAMES IS ANOTHER LEVEL. NEEDS A "TRUE CHAMPION TO WIN"
Too bad he wasn't afforded the opportunity at the peak of his powers.
a runner that HAS NOT won an olympic gold medal CAN NOT be named THE BEST. There's no way.
