last year lancashire won a national championalchip 1500 or mile race, i know he did because i watchit it on tv and he looked amazing. he is just plain better than other collegiate milers.

when i look at him i see more natural athletic ability, and when i see people like leo manzano, i see more of a desire and i think he fights more for what he has accomplished.

pre is more of a fighter type.

webb is more of a natural type.

There is a BIG difference between winning ACC titles and an NCAA title. With that being said, I know he has the capability to be in contention. We'll see!

If your incredible season pr list is all you can really go by as being an indicator of 800M speed, Manzano shouldn't even show up to the meet. I mean he can really only be counted on to run a 1:52.2 right? I think that guy could roll out of bed, put on spikes and run a 1:52 before he even woke up.

Although many of the guys are kickers this year, I still think it will go out fast from the gun. Pifer is a distance based guy, and so are a couple others. Manzano won two years ago off a hot pace, so he probably won't be scared to be close to the front if the pace is fast.

Overall, Manzano, Lancashire, Rono, and Lomong are the favorites.

not sure lamong has the speed? the guy has run 1:47!

Russell Brown is not a senior. He has eligibility for cross and outdoors next year. He is also fast. Closed in 39.4 and 54 flat last week-end. Leo is the favorite based on this year's results and his excellent competitive temperment. But Brown is definitely on a fairly short list of guys who can out-kick him

There are a lot of good guys this year, so who knows? Manzano is going to be very hard to beat, but I put my money on Lomong. Nobody is going to run away from him before the kick because he's just too tough. I think that Manzano is fastest over the last 70 meters or so, but Lomong is strong enough to really blast from 200m out.

He's also number 27 on this year's 1500 list, and 32 on the 5000 list. Doesn't mean he can't finish well at NCAAs, but as the original poster pointed out, a lot of guys have run faster this year.
