This must be the thread that has the greatest upvote/downvote ratio in the history of Let’s Run. Thanks, Camille, for uniting all of us.
Yes it's sad that she's facing this kind of disapproval on the internet but it seems that she's gotten away for years with negative behaviours toward others, including teammates, team leaders, USATF leaders and Admin - altering Wiki pages, and playing the autistic card (most of the time not warranted) and the logical end to this would be that she would be called out on this. Her behaviour has reached a point where her presence is detrimental to the health of the USA ultra distance running team. She has to go. This is all tragic because she undoubtedly possesses a talent for ultra distance running.
With regard to talent I always look at what an ultra runner can accomplish in the marathon and she has a 2:37 best which, in my opinion, is equal roughly to a man running 2:20, so that's pretty impressive for an ultra runner and she ran that before super shoes I believe, so had she stayed with the marathon she might have been a sub 2:30 marathon runner as a woman, which is up there in the US.
Her requests are unrealistic and counter to fair and equal competition.
She wanted event organizers to make special exclusive exceptions to accommodate her personal desires.
In a 24 hour, the aid tents are in integral part of the competition. All other athletes were allocated and assigned to one of the designated aid tents for their delegation. It would not be fair to any/all other athletes to allow her to have her own personal private aid tent.
If the event made a e special exception for her, they may have to allow each of the 300 or so other athletes to have their own private aid tent ( and/or some other special exception). That would be impossible.
Special Olympics does welcome and accept athletes with autism, but even they would not permit each athlete to have their own separate tent. Part of Special Olympic competition involves providing athletes with intellectual disabilities opportunities to successfully adapt/manage situations that they may find uncomfortable/challenging.
As stated in other thread posts, Team USA was prepared to exclusively allocate a part of their delegation tent just for her, even though this would mean less space for other athletes. She has also successfully competed before as part of Team USA without her own private aid tent.
This is about fair and equal competition, and not about inclusivity and disabled rights as she erroneously claims.

She didn't have sub-2:30 talent. She ran a number of marathons and moved up to ultras when she realized she would never be a top-tier marathoner or ever contend for a national team spot.
Nothing wrong with that - she found her niche. But setting all those records at obscure distances and events gave her an inflated ego and sense of self-importance.

Treatment: "Medications such as antidepressants, which treat depression, are commonly prescribed by healthcare providers; mood stabilizers to reduce mood swings and antipsychotic drugs to reduce the prevalence of psychotic episodes."
Question:
Ghost1: May one assume that the pharmaceuticals prescribed are legal and not advantageous to performance?
Lastly, further quote: "The occurrence of narcissistic personality disorder presents a high rate of comorbidity with other mental disorders."
Conclusion: She probably would benefit from professional help, but knowing C.H., would she accept and recognise she has a problem?

Yes you're probably right and I've watched several videos of her running and she has an un-aesthetic, inefficient running form which is surprising for someone who runs such long distances.
Your point reinforces the notion that ultra distance running is often but not always a refuge for people who could not make it at shorter distances like the marathon and even shorter.
When you dont get along with the team managers due to them calling you out for your behavior in regards to the overall team at Taipei in 2023 its clear Camille-toe wanted to operate under her own special environment so she didn't have to interact with USA teammates
I know this makes people mad, but whatever standard says that Camille is “didabled,” be it medical, psychological, etc…. I believe it’s wrong. Camille is clearly not disabled. She may be quirky, or weird, or awkward, or noticeably different than others. But I don’t believe she’s disabled.
my opinion: claiming disability gives Camille a badge to wear which garners special treatment and attention from others. This kind of behavior is gross. Everyone has battles to fight. Maybe she has internal struggles others don’t have. But it clearly has not hindered her ability to dominate athletic competitions in the past. Give me a break.

I'm thinking the same thing - yes she has mental health issues but so do millions of others, and those issues should not be used as a means to gain further advantage over others.
She doesn't seem to be a nice person, but nevertheless I feel sorry for her because following this debacle about her non-participation in an IAAF world athletics contest (24 hours run) for ultra runners, where she penalized 2 other runners ready and able to step in to represent the USA (one of life's greatest honours), she appears to have damaged her reputation beyond repair and it will be difficult for her, in the future, to represent the United States of America in ultra distances. I'm saying difficult, but not impossible.
Window of opportunity for C.H:
She needs to sit down and talk with the management body of USA ultra distance running and explain her situation and recognize her faults to go forward. If she continues her mode of silence and guesswork for others as to her intentions the situation will just become worse.
That's like so many people in society now that claim to have some sort of 'ism' or are 'diagnosed' and the tell everybody they meet in their first conversation. Its attebtion seeking. It's the new tattoo. Everybody gets one to try to be different but now everybody has one it defeats the intention.
In the ultra community, Camille has been rubbing people the wrong way since 2016 or so. Absolutely horrible human being I have been on teams with multiple times . I have adhd, and have kids who struggle with adhd and autism. To bail on a world championship in your very, very small completion because of your so called disabilities is utter horse crap because you lack any self awareness to apologize for your narcissistic behavior is an insult to people who actually struggle with these disabilities. I hope no sponsor ever gives you a dollar again, good riddance

If you read her latest Instagram post she states she had never signed the team agreement to participate, because she was not granted special privileges. According to her post, she was never selected and so she wasn't causing any problem to anyone. Am I reading her post right, or missing something?
At 5.9 (175cm) Camille has an atypical physique (height) for a distance runner, especially females, literally towering above most. Same height as Paula Radcliffe. Her b.f. is super low. I'm guessing around 19 BMI.
I believe you should make reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
These do not include breaking the rules or disproportionately inconveniencing your team mates.
Ridiculous behaviour.
Nb, I see ghost down voted for merely repeating that she said she didn't sign the ts and cs thus wasn't on the team, thus didn't need to withdraw. Looks like bs, but it is a comment that needs an answer and ghost was right to point it out.
