There are more honest posts in the brosnan book thread. Half the posters here in reality are on welfare, fixed income, or teacher salaries.
Teacher salaries are not horrible and they often precede decades of teacher pensions.
I am proof of that..in the NEast, retired teacher of 4 yrs..pension of 6k a month. Throw in 3k in SS soon and I'm golden even before I even touch my 403B. Whats not to like???
Teaching is a great gig when you want 10month work years, short days to do things afterwards, have a well balanced life and good ROI at the end. I know its not this way in the southern states where education is quite frankly not taken seriously and teachers are treated like crap.

lifestyle creep keeps people working way longer than they need to. So many people keep working to 65 because they 'have to' to keep up their life style. Many could have retired a decade earlier with a still comfortable lifestyle. Is it worth it? Not sure, I'd say definitely not if you don't really like your job.

Might as well be advertising for hackers. It might inflate your ego to boast of your net worth on an anonymous internet chat board, but I would advise against such self gratification. It may not end well.
