Except Djokovic gets injured in the back half of every other slam now. He absolutely cannot compete physically like he used to and probably doesn't have the fitness to finish the job anymore. This marks a signifigant departure for a player who was probably the fittest ever. Djokovic has suffered a decline in this area like everyone else, but he was starting from a different stratosphere, so he's still pretty damm fit, but he absolutely can't outlast guys like he used to. If you need an example look at how he won the 2012 Aussie open SF/F, he could not even come close to matching that today.
Yup. The fittest ever to a house of cards. And why? Questions must be asked
Man, what must the #4 ranked player in the world think getting his a$$ handed to him by a house of cards? So deflating.
novak djokovic make quarter finals at united states open this year. he 38 years old and playing very high level tennis at his age. I think Fritz beat him. but novak is legend. carlos alcaraz win tournament when tournament is over. he is great player today.

Absolutely. Fritz did not play well. He should be very upset with himself.
i was at match game. taylor fritz play good. had american crowd behind him. novak djokovic play wonderful match. very strong. still great player at age of 38 years. amazing player.

It’s not worth your time to respond to this poster. He lacks any knowledge of tennis and always derails threads based on a weird personal grudge with the GOAT. Happy you had the pleasure of watching Novak advance to another semifinal.
Again, you are lucky to watch someone achieve things that no one in the world has for the entirety of human history! Cheers to you!!!

Nobody in the entirety of human history has hit a green ball at age 38 as Chokervic.
Noteworthy.
What’s more noteworthy is how he was so much better at 36. The fall off is legendary. The GOAT status? Debatable :)

No you big dumb dumb. He didn’t just hit a green ball. Like almost every time he steps on the court he continues to press his achievements further along than anyone has ever done before. He just cemented himself alone at the top as the player to reach the most semi finals in grand slams. What’s more noteworthy than your asinine say nothing statement is he’s reached the semis in every grand slam this year at age 38.
Made the semifinals in all four slams...again. Djokovic just keeps cementing his GOAT status. At this point, only a fool would deny that he is the GOAT.
But Djokovic’s “dropoff” in the past two years is consistent with most tour pros beyond the age of 35. Still a phenomenal, healthy player.
His "drop off" includes making it to slam semis as well as beating one of the best young players today to win gold in the Olympics. Not much of a decline. He still beats just about everybody except Sinner.

Achievements in… hitting a green ball.
Always appreciate when someone concedes they made a stupid statement! It’s rare for someone to admit they were so blatantly wrong about someone’s unrivaled accomplishments at the top of their respective field. Enjoy your weekend!

I simply find it amusing how you wax such effusive praise for a man playing a game about 0.1% of the world plays.
He hits a green ball. That’s what he does. He’s good at it, but not as good as he once was even 2 years ago.

If you don’t care about the sport then you don’t have to be in the thread. But since you’re here you must be part of the .1%. And if that’s the case, you would also know he just become the individual to make it to more grand slam semis than anyone who has ever played the game in history.
At this point I don’t think you’re entirely sure what the point you’re trying to make is. You’re upset that you entered a thread about a tennis player, and some fans of tennis talked about a tennis players recent matches and accomplishments. Go touch some grass, or clay if you prefer, and get a life buddy.

I simply don’t give people credit for making semis. Hitting a green ball as good as 3 other people.
All these guys are exceptionally careful about everything they take in, yet Sinner took in steroids and Djokovic refused to be tested pre-Davis Cup semis a couple years ago because he was taken by surprise, perhaps glowing.
