It seems wild as there ae 4 women who are just way way better (Kipyegon, Chebet, Tsegay and Ngetich) but if Chebet doesn't dojble back from 10k for some reason and Faith doesn't do it from 1500, then it's not an impossibility.
Honestly, the very best women could probably sweep all of the medals in all of the distance events (Hassan, Tsegay, Chebet, Kipyegon) but they don't compete in them all.
There are only 5 women entered who have run faster than Josette this year.

I literally can't find an entry list anywhere. Is it not posted? This sport actively tries to make it as hard as possible to follow.
I agree with your post. I started this thread not to bash Josette. I am routing for her and am a fan of her because Robby is one of my all time favorite runners. If she ends up medaling, I'll have to eat crow I guess but really my overall point is still the same. The only way she is medaling is if many of the top dogs dont run. If all the best 5000m women run, there is literally 0% chance she medals. When she states she thinks she can medal, shes basically saying she thinks its going to be a weak field without the best running. If she medals, itll be the equivalent of Luke Houser's indoor bronze.
I just like people to speak with their results. I like Nuguse but him talking about contending at worlds before even making the team, and then running terrible in the DL final makes me less of a fan.
I love it when runners talk about their goals. I love it when they discuss their training. The more we know, the more interested we become. There is something wrong with you if it bothers you to have a female discuss their goals. Do you attend high school grafuations to tell all of the female grads that it is unlikely that they will become CEOs and doctors?

Rojo you should know that times are irrelevant in championship races. It’s all about strategy. More than likely the winning time will not be close to a PB. And there are plenty of great tacticians out there. Podium can be achieved by runners not on the top 5 list you have posted. We will see who lines up. But don’t forget Shelby and Elise beat Andrews at nationals. That’s two spots already.
She literally said her goal was to be in the final and then put herself in position to run with the top pack. She never said she WAS going to medal at worlds. She said she WANTS to put herself in a position to contend. Not sure what’s wrong with that? If you can make the final, wouldn’t you try to put yourself in position for the hunt?

I wouldn’t forget Battocletti either. So really there’re 5 head and shoulders above. Two look completely invulnerable (Kipyegon, Chebet), one looks close to that (Battocletti), one can do boneheaded things in the heat of a race (Tsegay), and the other is unproven in track championships (N’getich) but crazy fit. Then you have Freweyni Hailu who could be hurt after a brutal fall, and the DL winner who is better than Andrews but inexperience it seems. It is possible to see Andrews finishing 5th but 3rd you need tons of dominoes to fall or newfound form. Are we sure she’ll even beat both Shelby and Cranny?

Sorry but we seem to forget that there are two other Americans that are ahead of her and both as likely to medal as her. I don’t see her any where near podium. BTW rooting for Shelby and Elise !!
They are ahead of her? Silly statement. Josette had run 40 seconds faster than Cranny this year. I guess Fisher has no chance to medal because Ameticans beat him at the US championship too.

So “Robert” what happened at Nationals if she was so much faster??? Cranny beat her arse in that race. And therefore it can most definitely happen again. And I hope it does
Slow races cause unexpected results. This makes the point that she can medal at worlds. Strange things happen in slow races. Does Hocker beat Fisher in a fast 5k?

Stop lying, bro. You don't like her. Just say it.
The title of the thread is "Josette Andrew’s thinks she can medal LMAO" when she literally didn't say that. She said she believes she can compete for a medal. You put words in her mouth because you don't like her.
