Grant Fisher stated after his 3000m WR that he was thinking AR but not the 3000m WR. I honestly think he was being modest and knew the WR was a possibility. For the 5000m he already stated in an interview he wants to see what he is capable of and push himself to his limit. He also stated he wants to pull several people to sub 13.
Grant obviously knows the WR is possible and he's going for it without publicly stating It's a WR attempt.
Your thoughts ..will Grant break the 5000m indoor WR and his time?
12:43.3333333333333333333, take it to infinity and back boys!
Unless he's gotta drop a deuce just minutes before the start, you can book it down as gold.
If he's gotta drop a deuce, then 12:44 Flat!
I might be there, so if I can get close enough, I'll be able to tell if he's grimacing or tugging at his shorts!
based on the lane assignments it looks like Sam Gilman and James West are the pacers which is solid
Mcluckie just finished 7th in the fastest mile heat in 3:57.00.
Still listed in Grant's 5000 heat but w/o a time, so appears is will be a pacer, likely through 1600 or so.
Very possible Mcluckie, Principe, Gilman, and West are all pacers.
Pay attention to Gressier. Thought he was a pacer, having already run a 13:00.+/5000 two weeks ago here @ BU then his 7:30.+/3000 last weekend @ Millrose. He may be feeling so good to want another crack at the 5000, sticking w/Grant as long as possible to see where that takes him.
Conservatively I would guess he could run 12:48 but realistically based on this past weekend I agree with the other predictions calling for sub 12:45
I think he could maximally run under 12:40, but if he has to push the last 10 laps alone 12:42 sounds like a good target pace and maybe he feels great and can kick off of it.
this perfectly captures the consensus with trolls blocked.

Unfortunately he had to push from 2600 out and had to go wide on oblivious lapped runners. Costs him a few seconds but indoor record attempts at 5,000 typically will have less pacing.

Those lapped runners were clueless. The slowest guy stepped out to lane 2 but everyone else was "F-you Grant". Fools. They had clear notice it was a record attempt.

Maybe because they were in the pain cave, focused on running sub 13:15 with less than 400m to go in their race. Yes they were clueless.
Blame the meet organizers, not some dudes who quite literally jog your race pace.
Now I understand why Grant said, "I have more to give on the track before moving to the 1/2 and full marathon.". His training MUST be at such a level that he knows WRs outdoors are ALSO within his grasp.
If he stays healthy outdoors look for him to HELP force a strong pace at Worlds and then take the 10000m from 2000m out.

But just know that he likes to run with urgency;)
Hey now, I was there and picked 12:44 flat if he had to drop a deuce. I saw the grimace man, he hurried on out to the latrine after the interview...you all saw it, thanks a dump exit if I ever saw one.
