The article said "WEIGHT THROW." Throwing the hammer indoors would be like throwing the Javelin indoors. That would be a joke to talk about it much less to do it!
MJ will gain publicity, especially if they keep saying Hammer Throw. Idiots.
It was the WEIGHT THROW!!! I doubt the Hammer Throw has ever been contested indoors. Hey how about the Javelin throw while we are at it. Please think people.
If the meet director ( Colorado United) and its coaches are proven to have miss managed this meet in anyway. Should they still be aloud to coach at their schools/clubs or even host meets this upcoming spring for outdoor track and field events? On the Colorado United website it says a USATF Member Club and yet when you go to look it up on the USATF website, it is not listed as such. When you go to the website. The first thing you see is a support your team donate button at the top. Followed by a join our team and then a register now and then a payment button. After all that it’s a “meet the coaches”. The priorities aren’t describing the “club” or the purpose, instead it looks like pay for it now and find out later.
Nothing says "get yourself fired" more than getting someone killed because your are incompetent. Every official and meet director involved should be fired.
I feel the building manager or ad should be called into question as well. I found this photo someone posted on Reddit and it appears they have a 15 foot sturdy chain link fence to protect their equipment but only a 10 foot saggy net to protect their fans. Can’t believe they’ve hosted for years like this. Yikes
so I found a photo of what the building looked like during collage meets and its clear that they had pushed the barrior back and moved the netting so they could move the bleachers there because when I was there I clearly remember seeing the netting on the grass

Do you mean the netting was outside on the grass that matched the netting that was part of the sector barrier?
Those are not the types of posts you wanna see in a thread about the death of someone
What is funny is the diseased, cash grabbing, "coaches," that are Colorado United are still at it. If you are following youth running in Colorado on Instagram, they are blowing up the feed with their nitwit advertisements. What parent in their right mind would ever consider taking their children to these ghouls for coaching? The willful negligence these twits displayed by rearranging the facility seating, which imperiled those attending and led to the death of a spectator, is at a minimum, mind-boggling. When one goes to a college meet, universally, the indoor throws are contest BEFORE the other events. Why, because safety. These ass-hats though...
And the school. Where was the University of Colorado when all this went down? How are they not being litigated. I thought a few months would go by and we would see some sort of resolution: staff firings, court actions. But nothing. WTF! Are there no other youth running clubs in Colorado Springs.
Who would go to a track meet their now? Who would want their kids around these jack-wagons? Sheesh...
Oh look what hit my inbox, I wonder, does no one at CU talk to each other. Now that there are no more High School meets allowed in Colorado Springs, these ass-hats are bringing their road show to Boulder:

Please contact your local Runners Roost for discounts or scheduling for a spike night! Also, shameless plug, but we also have a meet this coming Sunday at CU Boulder! This is the first high school meet ever in the facility, and we are so excited to bring forward this opportunity to the community! You can find more information about the meet here:
The news is reporting someone was killed at a high school meeting hit by a hammer. I’m assuming the death is true but all the details are wrong. Not hs? UCCS indoor college meet?
I mean would you rather there be no high school meets at all?
There is no high school indoor state meet in CO. It doesn't make sense for there to be indoor high school meets in CO, except for overzealous parents and the money-hungry club coaches who cater to them. This speaks to why safety oversight could be so lax, there is no sanctioning or rigor in officiating these rogue meets.
