I’m really struggling with your argument that all black people should beat white people at all track events and if a white person wins that raises suspicion. That is what you are saying?
Have you seen the make up of 1500m races? Have you looked through history? Even 800m are a real mix.
It’s really a simplistic argument and just doesn’t ring true.
No, I’m not saying what should happen, I’m saying what usually does happen. Why would you think I would say that something should or shouldn’t happen in an instance like this? That’s moronic.
Also, yes, 1500m, 800m, you can get a mix in that. Pretty much everything else Black athletes win. Be it from America or Africa. And if a white athlete wins anything other than a 1500 or 800, that’s unusual, and therefore suspicious to me. Because anything in track & field that’s unusual is suspicious given the doping that’s rampant in the sport. This is easily understood, yes?
Yes you said all track. I wanted you to clarify not 1500m or 800m WHICH THE ATHLETE IN QUESTION RUNS!! So your argument doesn’t hold up. Thank you for clarifying..
She never races but manages to be top in an event that generally requires a good amount of racing.
She does not need to be doping for me to hate her. She never races and does not like the sport so there is no way I would ever cheer for someone who ends up stunting the growth of the sport. I am not saying Keely is clean but she sure as hell is cleaner than this drug bag.
You do realize she had two Olympic gold medals and a World Championship gold medal before going to Bobby Kersee, right?
If anything, he may have slowed her down.
Not sure pointing out the fact she has been running slower *after* moving to a flagrant cheat is the defence you intended it to be.
IMO you have to enjoy the sport for what it is; I watch with a dose of scepticism for every athlete, particularly the greats, but not enough to ruin my enjoyment.
Hodgkinson looked great in this race, so great that she seemed to have more in the tank at the end. She also didn't get to draft off of the pacer, who went out too fast, so I actually think that she can break 1:54 this year and I would never have believed that before this race.
Keely reminds me of the russian middle distance runners from the mid to late 2000s. Both in racing style and build.
Her style reminds me of Savinova, both beautiful movers, Keely possibly being the most biomechanically pleasing female 800m runner I've ever seen in person - Her gait is something else. The difference being Savinova was running 2.07 at 19, and hadn't really shown anything before her mid 20s, whereas Keely was a prodigious under 18.
Mu ran her fastest time ever with Kersee at the end of last season, 1:54.97 AR. That Athing Mu would have been a force this year. The attitude and ability were both there. What happened in the meantime? Maybe just injury.

She's broken doped records that have stood for decades. Are we to believe she's accomplished all this clean?
I think if you take the impact of superspikes and of Maurten making a digestible form of sodium bicarb (worth 2-3 seconds over 800m in tests) it doesn't take doping to take someone who would have been a low 1:58 runner to under 1:55.
I'm just the opposite. Mu I think is clean, and Kelly Hodgkinson I think is doping.
Any white girl that beats a black girl in track raises flags in my book. It feels unnatural to me. That's just on general principle. Call it "Black Supremacy" or whatever one wants to call it. Whenever it happens it just looks weird as hell to me, and suspect as hell.
It's the same with Ingebrigtsen. A white guy just leaving Africans in the dust on the track? Something is going on there. He's probably never going to get caught, but whatever he's doing isn't real, in my opinion.
If I see a dozen a people from Norway doing that then I'll believe it. But just one? Hell no. No one is that special.
It’s rare but there are white people that have certain genetics for ridiculous speed. It understandably surprises people including myself. I’ve watched my son’s best friend, a white kid, grow up exceptionally fast in sprinting. He made it into the high school 100m finals in largest school division in Texas this year. It’s genetics. Both his parents were gifted athletes. Mu is gifted. Hodgkinson is as well. She has been fast for a long time and is now in her prime years. I compare this to Jess Hull who I’ve been a fan. I had mixed feelings watching her take 5 seconds off her pr in the 1,500 after taking 2 seconds earlier in the same year at age 27. I remember the days of watching Seb Coe and Ovett grueling battle to lower their time by a single second. To see one of my favorite runners lower her time by 7 seconds (5 seconds in one race alone) has made me question the T&F performers today. Sad…but maybe PED’s are now just part of the sport today.

She's broken doped records that have stood for decades. Are we to believe she's accomplished all this clean?
The key phrase here is "stood for decades." Even if a record is doped, it will eventually fall due to improvements in training, nutrition, shoes, tracks, human evolution, etc. Just because an athlete breaks a doped record does not mean the athlete is doped. I would be curious how fast today's sprinters would be if they ran on cinder tracks with leather shoes and had to dig a hole in the track as a "starting block" like Jesse Owens did.
Georgia Bells run today and season is more amazing.... 7 second pb today at age 31, 1.56. 3.56 1500 this year, 10 second improvement on last year. Same group.
If you look at Keely’s progression, it is one of the most suspicious I have ever seen. She went from mid-packer to world-beater while dropping 8 seconds in the 2 years leading up to Tokyo, and 6 seconds in 2020 alone when testing was non-existent due to COVID. I think she sold her soul that year and decided she liked it. Also she’s British so 100% doped to the gills. Not a fan of this chick getting a free pass because she is a white hot bop.
The 2 years leading up to Tokyo were the years between 17 and 19. This is classic backassward thinking.
2020 marks are from a covid-truncated season and should’ve almost certainly been faster for both. Honestly though, the main takeaway from these progressions should be that Mu and Hodgkinson were both running elite level times when they were literally children and have been amongst the top global half-mile talents in their age bracket for the last 8 years.
The 2017 - 2021 progressions would look weird for athletes in their late 20s and REALLY weird for athletes in their 30s. For athletes ages 15 - 19 (still growing + making the shift from high school —> collegiate and professional training loads) there’s literally nothing weird about either of them.
Most sensible post in this entire thread.
It's not unusual to see large jumps in performance when athletes are transitioning from teenagers into adults as their bodies are still growing.
More suspicious when athletes are making these sorts of gains when they're physically fully developed athletes in their mid-late 20s, but again, that doesn't necessarily equal doping either, it just makes it more likely that something isn't quite right.
Hodgkinson's been making very steady gains over the last 3 years from 1:55:88 in 2021, to low 1:56s in 2022, 1:55:11 in 2023, and now 1:54:60 in 2024 during an Olympic year.
It's the equivalent of a 100m runner going from 10.83s to 10.72s over 3 years. Not that outrageous a jump.
