I particularly love Wejo's halfass response is basically like "Yeah, well, I'm not going to do anything about it and if anything, it's your fault for using it".

The forums (not the home page) make my literally 1 week old iPhone 15 overheat. No other website does this.

iPhone SE Safari keeps reloading pages. Very annoying.

Same for me on both PC and Galaxy S23 Ultra+. I only have issues with this site using Chrome. Opera and Brave work fine.

Maybe the same people getting ads are the ones paying $30 a month to watch DL meets on Flotrack that can be viewed for free.

BTW, I'm 73 so if I can figure it out so can GenZers.

Yeah. They finally got rid of Shelby. (I even made a thread to thank them, and they deleted it. Sheesh.)

But, alas, I still spend half my time deleting the new popups and skipping ads. And waiting for all that stuff to load, with spinning man.

Please, do tell me again about PCs and blockers!!!

I do many forums. Music. Swimming. Chess.

Only this one torments.

Waiting for the video at the top to load so it can run for 5 seconds before you close it while you try to close the 2-3 ads at the bottom with inconsistent Xs that usually open a popup no latest where you click on them, plus the occasional hidden ad that opens when you click anywhere on the screen. Bang up job.

(All of this assumes it’s running optimally and doesn’t reload twice before telling you a problem occurred and it can’t open the page)

It's fine on my phone but on my laptop it's unusable. Other sites (on my laptop) are fine.

This is slow and skips and freezes.

Also on tons of websites of different genres and only deal with issues on a single one. This one.

Frustrating that i haven’t research ad blockers now when I don’t need them on a single other site I’ve ever visited.

Another thing:

To go from thread to thread it is literally easier for me to exit the site then come back in.

Maybe the owners like that? I dunno. More clicks?

But I seriously spend much less time here. Drivebys, basically.

I submitted a screenshot of the message I’ve been getting and mentioned the page reloading and the inability to exit threads easily. For what it’s worth, Wejo replied to me pretty promptly with some follow up questions and suggestions. Does seem like they’re trying to improve things.

I haven't seen an ad here for more than 10 years. It's funny how tech illiterate you are.

She was like the clown from IT, always there learning at you making you feel you didn't want to be on this site.

Why push Shelby on us? Thats just cruel!

I just downloaded the Brave app that someone else suggested in this thread and my immediate reaction is: wow, I can see the entire page. In Chrome I was getting at best 50%, sometimes less. Ad hell.

Fine, but let’s not blame the victims here. He (and me) may be tech literate, but we don’t need to do anything special on the dozens of other pages we visit.

So are we the issue or is the site?
