Kenyan aside: I haven’t seen. Was hoping it’d be uploaded…
I think Munguti and Keter will be there, but Keters tactical acumen usually shows (negatively) in these highly tactical and kick-dependent races. Munguti has an outside chance if Tim mistimes his finish or Kipsang/Reynold get it all wrong. Komens style looks perfect for Kenyan races. He stays up there and has the finish. It’s not about being the fittest as much as trusting your finish and dealing with all the uneven pacing/moves.
Almgren did this race as a warm up before his 5000m in Stockholm on wednesday. He stated in the interview afterwards that he hadnt trained specifically before the race and that he thinks he could break his personal record if he trained specifically for the 1500m for 2 weeks.

Interesting, good context. 3:32.00 is not a bad PB, so im not sure about just 2 weeks. Aiming for sub-13 I assume in Stockholm.
Not to look too far ahead but both Bednarek and Moraa intimated they might withdraw from LA Grand Prix. Moraa wanted to chase the 600m WR but it seems she is not getting that chance and doesn’t plan to run the 400 as consolation. Bednarek cited (fairly) a really busy schedule so far.

I only caught the final lap but wale was slowing down so much for all the hurdles. Does he always do that or was it just the fatigue? It seemed like he was losing so much time
