This is so embarrassing for Lets Run. It is embarrassing that Rojo becomes defensive and acts like he is a righteous journalist just doing his job, and this is just Coleman's problem. Imagine all the other journalists around him and watching this spectacle. I hope someone professionally helps Rojo, or we will miss out on good, in depth reporting.

This thread went off the rails once Stoppitt Smith “with one T” chimed in. He has the same bad attitude as Coleman. Just an unlikeable fellows. And now, three important words: “Lighten Up Francis.”

this is such a bad take. rojo is the only one asking the real questions that athletes don't want to hear. the rest of the journalists are just pussyfooting around and padding the athletes' egos. without journalists holding athletes to account the sport would be even dirtier than it already is. #rojoforpulitzerprize
The Brojos aren't great journalists. Gault shouldn't be lumped with them. He's actually quite good. For those who remember Kenny Moore, Gault is kind of the 2000s version of him.
the brojos are not journalists at all, but they have to try to play the role of one because nobody else in the sport will do their job.
Look, I like Lets Run. I like how dedicated they are. However, it is not good for anyone if they think Lets run is "Lets hate" or definitely the worlds fastest indoor sprinter has no respect that he will not even respond and walk away?
it's not about him having no respect for letsrun. he doesn't want to talk because he's a doper and knows he is likely to be accused of doping. he can't handle the consequences of his actions and runs away like a baby.

Associates and buddies aside, what is letsrun to the actual sport? ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. have dedicated years of coverage and know how to track and field. Those of you defending the letsrun team are de facto saying that anyone who ran in college or ran a time near an Olympic qualifier should be able to ask sensitive questions to the American or World's Greatest currently.
That's not how it works in journalism. Responsible journalism knows how to properly filter out racist speech in their forums... this is why comments are either not allowed or are carefully filtered regarding athletes.
With Christian Coleman, like it or not, he had his sanction for the missed tests and the agencies called it good their way.
Hounding someone about missed test, missed test, missed test at any juncture does nothing to help the sport and it's really openly disrespectful to Coleman because the motivation is not equal.
If people read letsrun and see the posts they allow, which are not always favorable to certain athletes, certain cultures and certain ideals, they would see why a Coleman would avoid letsrun.
Coleman has sponsors and he is not responsible for letsrun and their income, nor is any athlete.
But without getting defensive, and especially in the modern era where most athletes at that level are professionals...
What exactly IS letsrun to them and what should it be?
He clearly doesn’t care about doing interviews he just hates letsrun and the brojos. NFL players, nba players, even President trump refused to give certain media outlets their time. I don’t see the problem.
Actually siding with LRC here. Coleman is an obvious doper. You can't miss 3 tests & be clean. & the sport doesn't really care. He serves a short ban & then it's not like meets don't invite him/pay him. He's right back on the world stage winning medals. If LRC doesn't ask about it, does any media outlet do it or do they act like that stuff never happened? The tv coverage doesn't mention it. He should have to answer tough questions. Whereabouts work in favor of top athletes. You somehow walk away without a doping conviction & don't have to talk about it because you technically never tested positive because you avoided the tests. It's a joke.
Also: I think every whereabouts should be made public. Take Katir, for instance. He doesn't have to give up any medals because his 3 missed tests all came after that. But we have no idea how many missed tests he had prior to that. He could've been averaging 2/year for years. That should be public but the sport has no incentive to highlight people gaming the system. It's better for them to produce a product full of fast times & let athletes decide when/where they can miss a test.

100%. Sadly it's even worse than that. For both Coleman and Katir, the three missed tests were in part before and in part after the world champs where they won Gold and Silver. Yet they get to keep their medals because the bans (and DQs if any) start at the date of the third missed test, not of the first.
Plus, the authorities made it even easier to dope and dodge tests, by decreasing the expiry time of a missed test from 18 to 12 months! They should expend it to 4 years instead - one Olympic cycle.
And what's with all the deletions here? Did some posters hurt the mods' feeling by wondering whether using nandrolone is also bad, not just missing tests?
