Utterly classless. Birnbaum was upset that a Wisconsin runner was daring to keep challenging him into the home straight when he thought he was way clear with 400m to go. Hyping up the crowd is when you gesture upwards with both hands in front to get them cheering, not a dismissive gesture at the guys in back.
