About 50% of girls and women stall out or even regress. For some like Ping, it happened at 15. For some like Cain, it happened at 19. For some like Tuohy, it happened at 21. I assume that Wiley will improve another 2-3 years or so which will get her to world class. I don't predict global medals.
I must have missed when tuohy stalled out or regressed
Even Katelyn sort of stalled out in 2019/2020/2021 with no improvement in those three years. In 2018 she had PRS of 4:14 1500, 9:05 3k, 15:37 5k. Then finally in 2022 she improved them a little bit to 4:06, 8:54, 15:14. So in 4 years she took off 8 seconds in the 1500, 11 in the 3k, 24 in the 5k. It wasn't until 2022 indoor season that she finally took another step forward. And no guarantee she'll be able to take yet another step forward to be a sub 4, 14:40's type runner to make world teams, which you need to be able to run those types of times to be top 3 in the US.

During that time period 2019-2021, Tuohy ran with a nagging knee injury, not sure all the details but missed a month of training in summer of 2019. She still managed to win her third straight NXN title in December but it was a close finish.
Covid hit in March 2020 and delayed her knee surgery until June. She came to NC State still rehabbing and not running at all until December. That would set any athlete back but she stayed patient and gradually made her comeback. As for the future - who can say, but based on what I’ve seen, would not bet against her.

agree on 2019/20 but this poster specifically said 21

Injuries happen, especially since she had some injury in the past it's reasonable it could bother her again in the future, which is why there's no guarantee anyone will get faster, because injuries happen. And I'd say three years is a pretty significant chunk of time, especially at the age where you typically see your most rapid improvement in the 17-20 age range.

It’s nice that you are concerned, however her recent results, which include multiple NCAA championships and collegiate records, indicate that she has put the injury/surgery in the rear view mirror and continues her progression.
You use Tuohy's name but you don't know when she set her PRs? Hard to be taken seriously. I guess Ping and Cain haven't stalled out either because they could still improve.

you really seem to have a struggle with understanding tense
Naughty, now that’s funny. You, with your unregistered user name, and questionable math skills, are quite possibly the most egregious at breaking the rules of anyone on here at the moment with your constant flaming of other posters.
Quite bit of competition for that “honor” with the recent influx of HU supporters attempting to defend the indefensible. FastTuohy is one the best and most well informed posters on here so of course you have to resort to these type of tactics along with reporting any post that tries to challenge you on your misinformation.
