Is he still doing that Army team?
Should be given a battlefield promotion, immediately, to 3-Star General!
I mean, Mike Flynn somehow got there.

Chelimo has run into trouble many times for stepping out.
In this case, Chelimo is the one caused the contact. Was not pushed.
He tried to pass Kemili on the inside when there wasn't room. If Kemili had gone down, Chelimo might have been DQ'd.
If it'd been on a turn, it would have seemed a slam-dunk DQ.
But it was on the straight and it seemed he did not get positional advantage from his in-field vacation.
Stepping out on a straight is not an automatic Get-Out-Of-DQ-Free card. You have to also step back in ASAP. While Chelimo did take several steps out, it reasonably seems he got back on track as soon as he regained his balance.
Verdict - no DQ.
Solid Bronze.

While we all have to respect Chelimo as a runner who is very talented. Most of us in the USA root for him because we root for USA. The problem is his personality. He is very rude, cocky, and not very many people like his personality. Even his teammates, Grant and Woody, don't particularly like him.
What medals did Grant and Woody win again? Is there a medal for wearing arm warmers in really hot weather?
Yes! Great question on the arm warmers.

His race tacits ain't exactly the height of sportsmanship, but let me be the one to say it: America needs more runners like Chelimo! Once that gun goes off, he will do ANYTHING to win/medal. Take it on the track. Let the officials sort it out later. DQs are always unlikely.
+1

He's going to obliterate the AR.

dumb
How is that dumb? AR is Lagat's 12:53. Chelimo just ran 12:59 in an Olympic race. He just needs a rabbited race and soon.
Sub 12:50?

The announcers were commenting on his clean race just as he ran up on the runner and stumbled inside the rail.
Considering some of the petty DQs we’ve seen, that could have been called. And it was his fault. He wasn’t pushed.
If he comes out of the turn and holds the line, he probably gets Silver.
He let Ahmad come by inside him. Ahmed was in no position to go around Chelimo.
Then he drifts wide and makes contact with Kimeli. That contact was unnecessary and looked like it did effect Kimeli in a tight finish.
He runs like a wrecking ball. Every time he races.
And not even to his advantage, really.
No. Nor should be. He's a valuable member of the running world.
