I'm thankful you don't coach women. The misogyny is strong in you

My goodness you are sensitive. I’m the one here defending the women. I know from personal experience that there is nothing so embittered as an athlete who doesn’t make the team. It’s always the coaches fault when that happens
Taylor is taking athletes and pushing them to be their best. Not everyone is strong enough to do that. It surely doesn’t mean Taylor is mentally abusive. If that were the case, you’d have everyone on the team running for the exists instead of publicly praising her and wanting to still be coached by her after they graduate.
Ah but that's where your wrong. You don't go here. You don't run here. You don't see what happens on the daily. There's no possible way you know what Taylor means if you haven't experienced it.
You’re right, I’d didn’t run for Taylor (I ran for Eyestone). So I’m left to form my opinion based on the things her athletes say in interviews and on social media (universal praise), and the actions they take (complete loyalty and dedication to her during and after college). Are you saying the other athletes on the team are lying? Are you claiming to speak for all of them or only your personal experience, which even you must agree may be an outlier compared to what your teammates experience?
Again, I know from personal experience that most complaints about coaches, even at BYU, come from those who don’t make the team. College running is hard and will require most to work more than they ever have. Not every high school hero goes on to greatness though. No one is handed their spot on the team.

4 kids leaving the teams seems like below average for many large D1 programs, especially ones that have a lot of walk ons.
Boys and girls always struggle when they go from big fish in small pond to a powerhouse school.
The ones that want to choose not to continue shouldn’t be coddled into sticking around.

Diljeet Taylor is such a 'mean girl' she formed her own professional running club in Utah where she continues to coach many of the same girls who ran for her at BYU.
what a toxic environment! those poor girls!

These girls didn't have a choice if they wanted to be pro runners AND live in Utah. There are no other pro groups without having to move far away.
Additionally, most of them aren't good enough to get pro deals anywhere else.
So I don't think them joining that pro group is evidence that they worship the ground she walks on. It was most likely their only good option to continue their running dream while living an adult Mormon life with their families.
Eyestone has a pro group they could have joined. Tim Rowberry, Hassan’s coach, is literally 10 minutes from BYU’s campus. Oh and they literally could have moved anywhere in the country given that there are far more LDS members outside of Utah than in it. Your implication that there is a gun to their head here is laughable. They chose Taylor.
You guys do know that Mormons basically disown you and cut you off from family if you don’t stay with the faith. So much darkness in this religion it’s terrifying and you guys act like BYU is a model program.

That's the thing: It went well! My original post NEVER bashed on Taylor's ability to create phenomenal athletes. Anyone doubting her ability to coach the sport and improve our times... is just wrong.
But it is not always the healthiest place to exist on a day-to-day basis. People always seem to shroud her with love and glory but there is definitely a dark, not-healthy aspect of the program. All I'm here to do is shed the smallest amount of light I can on the subject.

With the transfer portal in place it makes it very easy to transfer now and the kids do this at the drop of a hat. Back in the day kids had to stick it out or transfer and lose a year of eligibility or burn thenir redshirt year.

Classic victim blaming. Just because she is nice to most of her athletes does not mean she is not abusive.
