I was using 'mile' to cover the 1500m too. And Bislett is the most prestigious mile/1500 non championship race of the year other than Monaco, with Zurich and the Bowerman's MILE on the next level down.

Well he has probably another 2 or 3 Olympics at least to aim for. This is Brazier's likely only realistic shot and others appear to be passing him by.

If it is a hamstring pull rather than a tear, then he should be back in 2 or 3 weeks. He's probably figured that it's better to skip the trials and avoid injuring it further and be back racing again soon at places like Monaco. The depth is so good in GB now, he wasn't even guaranteed to qualify fully fit. He probably has over a decade of elite racing ahead of him. Coe missed an entire year at 18 and didn't get to the Olympics until he was 24. Brazier had had his fair share of injuries including when he was a teen.

Here's predicting he'll run low 1:43 at Monaco.

Brazier will still be a force to be reckoned with in 2024. Hate to break it to you. He also didn't team up with Salazar and he won the US title in 2017.

Apples and oranges. Tim is at his peak, this was likely his only chance to win gold, and furthermore, he and his coach say that he is not injured. Of course it's possible he is skipping the Olympics to plant potatoes so that he can pick up fat cheques at Monaco and the like.

Nice run by Dobek, it's a great story! I guess we won't have to hear from people who think Giles is gonna roll out of bed and run 1:42-mid or faster outdoors because of a 1:43 in indoors (which is as fast/faster that outdoor with no wind to speak of).
