wejo times and training are your arguments?

He would be better running sub 30 5k or 1 :05 10k than 40 min 5k. He has been doing these for months without improvement.

*Vdot suggested easy pace way faster than wejo's actual easy pace when he made his break through.

Vdot doesn't work for everyone.

I already made my argument about pace using my own example. I could only race (all out) a 10K at 8:45 pace. I doubt I ran my daily 9 miler faster than 12:30 pace most of that summer. I started out 2:00 faster in the mile than David.

My suggestion would be more pile in more miles as he is able. Six days a week is an easy start to add miles. Then one faster workout per week to start. Drills and strides one day a week.

Ask yourself: Where did you read that? Was it in reference to someone running >70 mpw? Was it in reference to someone running <20 mpw?

You don't need to do easy runs on your rest and recovery days! You do not run enough miles to require easy runs. Your recovery days should consist of zero running, not easy running. When you run, run faster.

You're at a beginner stage, even if you've done a C25K program before, your fitness indicates you're a beginner.

You have people trying to legitimately help you and you're arguing with them. With all due respect, your head is so far up your own ass, you can see china. Pull it out, sit down, shut up and listen.

Your 1 mi TT indicates your easy paces are too easy. Further more, your training program isn't good. You're an 18 year old high schooler who probably hasn't learned about blocks, periodization, stress and recovery etc.

Try something like this:

Monday: 10 min easy continuous run, 15 minutes hard, 10 minutes easy. Screw pace and HR, go by feel.

Tuesday: Rest.

Wednesday: 10 min easy continuous, 4x4 minute blocks hard W/2:00 rest between blocks, 10 minutes easy.

Thursday Rest.

Friday: 10 min easy continuous, 2x12 minutes hard w/4:00 rest between, 10 min easy

Saturday: 2 - 3 mi at convo pace, again screw HR and pace zones.

Sunday: Rest.

I just ran today, and I feel like a damaged a tissue in my right foot severely. I think it is plantar fasciitis.

What shoes are you wearing? How old are they? You may just need to buy some new shoes. It's a good idea to have two pair to rotate every other day.

I’ve dealt with plantar fasciitis on and off for 15 years. It never was remotely like you describe. The BEST I felt was after about any run. In the morning, I could barely stand most days.

FYI, the reason you didn’t make the cross country team has nothing to do with your speed. You are whiny, constantly make excuses, put forth little effort and have no desire to do what’s needed to be successful. You would have ruined the chemistry of the team and the coach saw that. If you could do some honest self reflection, you might make progress, but until then you are kind of who you are.

Not saying you are a bad person, and I’m sure you have other things going for you, but your biggest impediment to being a better runner is mental.

Maybe. Maybe not. Stretch and drink water. See how you feel tomorrow. If you feel okay, run tomorrow. Otherwise take one day off and run the next day. See how you feel at the end of your next run which will either be tomorrow or the next day.

Also, don’t call it an injury until a doctor tells you that it’s an injury. It’s probably just a little soreness that will go away after you get used to running.

People have tried to help and you've ignored their advice. Then something "hurts" and you wonder why. Again, your head is so far up your own ass you can see China.

Learn how to harden the F up.
