Wherever it was Frank knew where to place himself cos he's with the 2:50/2:55 finishers.

b/t/w, hitting the 10k mat, and missing the photographer before (and after) the 10k mat, was the case in this year's la marathon. in photo 3017_046277 fm is seen crossing the 10k mat with runner 16809 (and echo park is in the background).

So you're saying he jumped in to get his chip recorded at 10k (plus the added bonus of a photo) and then jumped out again. I find this hard to believe. ?

really, hard to believe? okay, fm... instead we should believe that those times are legit? look at the photos (and the missing photos), the wacky splits, the video from 2018, the delayed starts, the dq from cim, the years of results that just don't add up when you get into the numbers, etc., etc., etc. for the la marathon, i'm sure fm wished he wasn't photo'd at 10k, but, he needed to cross that mat to make this appear legit. remember, this was a world record attempt. an age graded sub 2:10 marathon. this guy is a fraud and should be exposed for what he is.

did this lbc photographer catch frank turning early on the long beach course? not sure what the hand wave is about, the photo sequence seems to work with the photo that was posted earlier. and, fm is the only one turning at this point, but i don't know the course, so folks who do, please chime in.

After the Kip story broke, nothing surprises me. Marathon cheaters are no longer random crackpots like Rosie Ruiz. They are people with established careers and otherwise stellar reputations. Here's another dentist who was a serial course-cutter:

Unfortunately I don't think this is evidence of his cheating. The photos are taken on an out and back portion of the course. In 212937 he turns and waves at the camera but in 212939 and 212941 he can be seen running away from the camera. Also, this looks like this is the return part of the out and back. He can be seen going out on photo 212836 (page 13303). I've looked at some of the other runners who were near him in 212836 to see if he lost much ground by 212937 but is is not clear. The best is probably the woman in 212830, she is seen again in 212927, she may have moved further ahead but it is hard to tell.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but the temperature at the 6:00 a.m. start time in Long Beach was 72 F. This makes the 2:53:28 at age 69 even more unbelievable.

Some of these people with their careers and success stories suffer from the impostor syndrome. A good job and a big house are not enough, so the prestige is rounded off with top times in the marathon. Then you are superman or superwoman. I know people who hang their offices with certificates, photos and other insignia that have to see as many as possible.
