She testified that she was afraid to tell her parents because she didn't want to admit she had been drinking beer with boys. That explains why she remembers the one beer she drank. It explains why it was, to her, an important fact to remember.
You expect gaps in memory from a long time ago, especially when there was trauma.
That is an extraordinary benefit of the doubt you're giving to an accuser.
I'm giving benefit of the doubt to everyone involved. To understand yesterday's testimony, we need to keep in mind how and why memories are formed (or not formed).
I sympathize with Kavanaugh, who doesn't remember. The incident just wasn't that important to him. Same goes for Mark Judge and others at the party. To them, it was just an ordinary day. So they forgot about it.
