You may want to pay $50.00 to fill up your tank. Me? No thanks. That is ridiculous. And it takes a looooonnnng time just to visit the smelly gas station every week.
I charge at home where it takes no time at all and the cost is dirt cheap.
If I pay $50 to fill up my tank I know I’ll get more than 150 miles off that tank. 😂😂😂😂
Having to pay $10 to charge 34 miles and then waste 2 hours waiting on the charge is just silly. No thanks. 3x gas prices!!??!! 🦤🦤🦤
I pay $7.50 to charge my battery, which goes for 326 miles.
You pay $50.00 to fill your tank, which goes for 400 miles.
I pay $0.02 per mile.
You pay $0.13 per mile.
You pay over 6x my cost and you have to visit the smelly gas station.
If you buy a new gas car you are an idiot.

Trump was an underdog in 2016. He got lucky.
Trump was an even bigger underdog in 2020. He lost pretty badly, even losing Georgia.
Trump will be an even bigger underdog in 2024. He as almost no chance at all.
But for fewer than 43,000 votes in key states, DJT would have won in the Electoral College again.
ANY Republican presidential candidate has a very good chance of winning.
Exactly. Too many sane people in the country refer to his loss as more decisive than it was - and that they ought to. It's important for the "Maybe I'll vote, maybe not" crowd to know that they REALLY need to vote in 2022 and 2024....and for as long as the R party is what it is. And if they hear that Trump got absolutely stomped in 2020, why should they need to bother?

Perhaps this is a "half empty/half full" argument. My take:
- 2016: People, many of whom really disliked Clinton (understandable to me), took a risk and hoped he'd "grow into it." Turned out tragic, but OK.
- 2020: It was WAY, WAY closer than it should have been after what people saw for those 4 years. 75 million Americans wanted 4 more years of that, (and actually, almost certainly worst).
- 2024: That it's even remotely a question says a HELL of a lot about America.
Agreed, but what it says about America may be that in the end most people will just vote for their party candidate, not really following or caring about what is actually happening. Most Americans do not follow politics much. Of course, that doesn't mean there aren't way too many racists and mouth breathers who want to simply own the libs. 2020 had a record turnout partly because it was easier for people to vote. It actually proved that voter suppression works. If you limit people's right to vote, it will result in less votes.
But yeah, pretty scary to see such a high % of Rs still believing Trump was the real winner and still supporting the loser this much.
Socialism ALWAYS fails. Cuban protests should remind DEMS no one flees to socialism, only from it.

Wow, I've never really paid much attention to the complaints about moderation on this board. But my last post, referring to the types of people who vote for Trump, was held up because a moderator said, "Please stop posting [the 4-letter red hat acronym starting with "M"] in all of your posts. It's not the point of the boards."
On the off chance that this post gets through.....Are you freakin' serious ???
If topics were kept to athletics, got it. And maybe they should be. But they're not, obviously. And that acronym represents the voting will of roughly one half of the American electorate, and the entire political will of one of only 2 meaningful parties in this country. While it fully deserves to be used pejoratively (fully earned), it's also a very descriptive and concise term. "Banning" it would make no more sense than banning "Republican" or "Trump."
You know, you sound frighteningly like an adult. Not really welcome around here.
:-)
Thanks. The non-discussions with the Trumpers are pretty stupid, of course (but I've succumbed to temptation, as well).
But the venting by like-minded folks (preaching to the choir) is worth something to us, apparently.
And the really interesting thing is that in the Trump Era, life-long conservatives like me surprisingly find themselves commiserating with presumably-more-liberal folks on political matters. And with a degree of emotion (and disgust, and....) that many (most?) of us have never experienced. A horrible reason for that to happen (Trumpism), of course, but....I suppose the surprising "bonding" of unlikely allies is a sort of minor silver lining to the whole situation.
And I'm just your average citizen conservative, never a R, much less involved in R politics. I'm reminded of how extra strange this must seem to the considerable group of life-long R anti-Trump politicians and operatives one sees every day commenting on TV, in print, etc.

This --- Ds absolutely need to keep yelling about Jan 6 and trump.. he is a fantastic campaigning tool. They should make noise about him until the very last second before he is not allowed to run because of his crimes. The GQP is strolling into one of the biggest R losses in history.

Someone I knew for ages had become a rabid tzee, but he saw the light last year and is now just understanding just how much of a cult the whole thing is. Ds have welcomed his conservative views in discussions but he lost his trump loving friends after voting for Biden. They do not tolerate anything non-trump adoring.

In the Trump era, my conservative brother and I agree on politics for the first time ever. That has been a nice side effect of Trump.
This is what must be done every day until the big lie ends. Every person who associated with trump must be asked to answer if they believe in trump’s big lie. Watch Mnuchin dance around lol

Do you know what FINALLY made him see the light?
And how can we duplicate it at least a few tens of million of times ???

The big lie is you that you dummies continue to believe Biden got 81M legitimate votes. The current audits will prove otherwise and the entire world will see Biden as a fraud.

Having to pay $10+ and only get 34 miles of charge is ridiculous. Why anyone would do this is beyond me. Plus it takes hours to get that charged. 3x the cost of gas and probably 15 times as long. If someone likes wasting money and has a lot time time to waste waiting I guess it’s fine. 😂😂😂😂😂
What does it cost you to fill your vehicle up with gas at your own house on a regular basis?
Way to go dementia joe.

Mark Esper was Secretary of Defense from Jul 2019 until Nov 9, 2020 (fired the day after the election).
"Esper was a lifelong Republican and had worked at the conservative Heritage Foundation as well as for Republican senators Bill Frist and Chuck Hagel. But he told his closest colleagues that as he watched TV news anchors cover the election results, he found himself rooting for the Democrat. Esper had worked with Biden and his secretary of state in waiting, Antony Blinken, when he was a senior staffer on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He had confidence that they were serious, stable people who cared deeply about shoring up national security. Esper couldn’t say the same about Trump. In fact, Trump had privately indicated that he would seek to withdraw from NATO and to blow up the U.S. alliance with South Korea, should he win reelection. When those alliances had come up in meetings with Esper and other top aides, some advisers warned Trump that shredding them before the election would be politically dangerous.
“Yeah, the second term,” Trump had said. “We’ll do it in the second term.”"
There were a number of prominent Republicans, even among Trump's staff, that did not want him to be re-elected.
They feared the damage to America that Trump could do in a second term.

Yes, it was the extreme division he was fomenting. He was hearing very aggressive language from his R friends and they were starting to refer to anyone who wasn’t a trump lover as a lib who needed to be shot. So it just gets too extreme for some people. I have no doubt so many who voted for trump disliked him, but he was very effective at getting them to hate their fellow Americans even more. That’s why I show no mercy on Trump lovers. They need to be ridiculed and cornered into displaying their full blown psychopathy - hopefully others watching their behavior see the light.
