Kavanaugh was a DC Circuit judge in 2012. This is the second highest court in the land. Anyone on that court is a potential Supreme Court nominee. So that's not a strange inference at all. This would definitely have been on Dr. Ford's radar.

And Ford was never a victim to Kavanaugh. That makes her a "failed" victim to Kavanaugh. She has every right to be bitter about the democrats publicizing her letter to Feinstein.

It's clear that a lot of you have no experience or training with rape victims, because the idea that someone who has been raped, or worse, will afterward invariably scream loudly and announce it, is quite ignorant; you have not understand the shame mechanism that is so prevalent, or the shock reaction.

That's not true. She did mention his name to both the therapist and her husband, years before Kavanaugh was on the short list.

There is no indication that she is making money from this. But if she eventually does then that's fine. She should be rewarded for her bravery.

I'm sure that Dr. Ford would rather have continued her quiet life as a professor, wife, and mother. She clearly loves that life she used to lead.

During her deposition she said that she did not mention his name to the therapist or to her husband. Try to keep up.

Again, any argument about what she doesn't remember is a red herring. It was a long time ago and she only remembers the things that were the most important to her.

She testified that she was afraid to tell her parents because she didn't want to admit she had been drinking beer with boys. That explains why she remembers the one beer she drank. It explains why it was, to her, an important fact to remember.

You expect gaps in memory from a long time ago, especially when there was trauma.

That is an extraordinary benefit of the doubt you're giving to an accuser.

I'm right about this one. In her opening statement yesterday Dr. Ford testified:

Dr. Ford told her therapist about Kavanaugh in 2012. She had no political motivation to do so.

Now Kavanaugh certainly showed that he is as partisan and ill-tempered as they come with yesterday's histrionic performance. He clearly has and had a drinking problem and passed out on numerous occasions. Do Republicans believe that he has the temperament for the Court? Do they believe they do not have time to confirm one of their many other Federalist-Society approved judges in time for the mid-terms or at least for campaigning for mid-terms?
