Shalane ran faster through 3k than these ladies are running the 5k.
Is is THAT hot there, or is it just THAT tactical?
Everyone figures they can outkick Jenny Simpson.

It's not tactical. It's just been a constant, slow pace.

huddle, conely, d'agastino, simpson, and 2 others in lead pack of 6. chealsea riley is one of them
Looks like Rowbury is racing!
Kim Conley has joined the leaders? NO! She's been there all along!!! Jeez!. They finally noticed Rowbury's presence.
simpson drops the hammer
What happened to Hastings? Was she hurt?
results:
simpson, huddle, rowbury
15:30s
Awwwww sad to see Abbey D not get it.
Rilery cratered in the final 100...a la Lucas last year.
Looks like Rowbury's training takes a new path for the rest of the summer...
Is it possible for Simpson to try the double?
Place Athlete Time
1 Jennifer Simpson
New Balance 15:33.77
2 Molly Huddle
Saucony 15:35.45
3 Shannon Rowbury
Nike 15:37.27
4 Kim Conley
New Balance / SRA Elite 15:37.80
5 Chelsea Reilly

7 Brie Felnagle
adidas 15:46.05

Brooks 15:57.78
Simpson, Huddle, Rowbury, Conley. The last three will run in Moscow since Simpson isn't doubling.
I'm a little surprised that D'Agostino and Huddle left it to the last 400m with Rowbury and Simpson around. Definitely played right into the hands of the middle distance studs.
i really hope Conley goes to Moscow
i doubt simpson will double 1500/5000 and she probably would rather attempt to repeat as champion at 1500
400m hirdles next, i dont know anbything about the womens field. i know 54ish is decent
Re the double, I think someone said the schedule at the world champs is quite bad for anyone wanting to do 1500/5000.

Same here. Huddle literally got pushed around in the last 600-500 by Conley and Simpson. She's very slight, but she's gonna have to be willing to throw some weight around against international competition.
So what race will Rowbury run? She might end up in the 1500.
ROWBURY!!!!!
I thought she wasn't going to run it, and am glad that she did! Maybe this will be her event from now on.
