You are neglecting to take into account if a country wants to host foreign troops or if their presence is unwanted. For example, S. Korea wants US troops in their country and willingly shares the cost of supporting them. Don't you think the situation in Ukraine is a little different?
But if any country wants to apply sanctions on the US they are free to do so. And they are welcome to try and persuade other countries to join in.
Yeah, so Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran wanted to host Americans and share the cost? Rebels (not the president) invited the US to Syria, just like rebels, but not Zelensky invited Russia to Ukraine. So what's the difference? Who has to invite to make this legimitate?
Back to my initial statement, if you send your troops into foreign country to kill citizens of that country, then you shouldn't be complaining about East Ukrainian rebels inviting Russia. #nohypocricy
Looks like those with the means and sanity are exiting the Titanic turd that Russia has become.
One-way flights out of Russia were rocketing in price and selling out fast on Wednesday after President Vladimir Putin ordered the immediate call-up of 300,000 reservists.
Great analysis from somebody that would know on why Russia calling up 300,000 reservists is going to end poorly for Russia. Summary - Russian soldiers receive training in their unit (not basic training like in the US). Those units are now on the front line, have low morale and limited supplies (certainly none to waste on training), and poor leadership. Maybe if Putin asks nicely Russia can keep part of Siberia.
Putin's announced mobilization of 300,000 "reservists" was jaw-dropping to me this morning, but not for the reason some might suspect.
Why? Because know how Russian soldiers are trained, in basic training & in their units.
Everything just changed. In the next 24 hours tensions escalate to a whole new level. Get Ready.Get Thyrosafe radiation blocking tablets herehttps://canadian...

Russia is going full on Leningrad in eastern Ukraine. They are just going to try to cannon fodder their way into stopping UA from taking Donbas. Russia has no air superiority in Ukraine. In fact, UA has been able to use helicopters, jets and drones in operations without much resistance from Russia's air force. Russia's Black Sea Fleet is in retreat because they fear getting hit by UA's drones and long range missiles. Russia's only battlefield successes have been from sustained artillery bombardments against a few small cities and rural towns. They basically blow up everything in their path and then claim to have captured the town/city after everything has been destroyed. UA is on the verge of taking Lyman, a key rail hub to the east of Ukraine. RU fought for weeks to take Lyman and other parts of Kharkiv and Donetsk Oblasts at the outset of the war (after changing tactics when a quick victory against Kyiv did not materialize) and are now losing these territories in a matter of days.
Russia will not be able to call up 300k troops. At best 2/3rds will show up. Out of those numbers, maybe half will be able to handle combat. The rest will be too old, too fat, too sick to even be worth sending to Ukraine. Out of those who are physically capable of going to the front lines, maybe 5% will have actual combat experience and will be ready to fight. The rest will be learning how to fight while UA forces are trying to kill them.
But the most dangerous part of Putin's recent moves is his announcement that troops on the front lines are going to have to stay indefinitely. One of the most shocking aspects of the disfunction of RU forces is the way they have been living on the front lines. The ability to bivouac is military 101. RU encampments in forests that were left behind in the Kharkiv offensive looked like homeless encampments. Even when RU forces were able to take over civilian buildings for shelter, the conditions inside were horrific. Raw sewage, trash, rotting garbage, and little shelter from the elements mean that soldiers will be sick, demoralized and completely ineffective on the battlefield. RU knows this and thinks that this is Leningrad all over again where they can be victorious simply by willing to sacrifice more bodies than the other side.
Canadian Prepper’s track record for predictions regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: 0 for 38.
Well...he's got 838k subscribers & millions of viewers, so who gets the last laugh? And what predictions specifically that you say he's been so off on? (do you have the specific videos you can link up?).
Let's get to this issue: I believe Russia will eventually start using their tactical nukes. They have 2000 SR missiles including the Iskander which can be armed with a low-yield warhead (1or 2kt) or an EMP device.
I think Putin has had about enough of the US/NATO support for Ukraine. It's a proxy war being fought by the U.S & NATO. Without their support, Russia would have ran over & conquered Ukraine months ago. The U.S. is providing technologically advanced weaponry to Ukraine as well as key satellite imaging data. No wonder the Russians can't make a move without Ukraine knowing about it. Russia can't keep taking these losses at the hands of the U.S. & NATO.
This isn't like Russia fighting like this - they were magnificent against the Nazis in WW2. The Battle of Stalingrad has gone down in history as the greatest slaughter of a German/Prussian army. The Russians used every weapon at their disposal against the Nazis. They haven't come close to using all their weaponry in this war with Ukraine.
I see Putin giving Biden an ultimatum to cease all military & financial aid to Ukraine or else the tactical nukes come flying. And Russia has a far superior nuclear arsenal than the U.S. has. President Biden may become a war-time president after all.
There is a 20 mile line of vehicles at the Finland border and flights out of Russia are all sold out. Rare protests have erupted in Moscow. Shoigu, the general in charge of the war in Ukraine, went on TV and tried to downplay the mobilization. He promised that no students would be called up and conscripts would still only have to serve in Russia. Shoigu claimed that RU would only be immediately calling up select personnel with specific combat skills and battlefield experience and would not call up all 300k at one. Ukraine war is still just a "special operation" and the need for more personnel is being blamed on Western participation in the war. This is in line with Russia propaganda blaming the recent rout of RU forces on NATO direct involvement in fighting. The basic logic is that RU would be winning if it was just RU v UA. But it is actually all of NATO fighting for UA. So, it is not a fair fight and that is why RU is losing and needs to call up more forces.
But the devil is in the details. If RU goes through with annexation of Donbas, that will allow RU to send conscripts to serve in combat in Ukraine. It will also allow RU to claim that Ukraine efforts to take back Donbas are attacks across the border into Russia proper, which would justify a full declaration of war and a full mobilization.

This is true though. NATO is guiding Ukrainian military forces with the help of NATO weapons and NATO intel.
Ukraine itself has nothing but old Soviet equipment and much less soldiers than Russia. Also a good chunk of Ukraine is populated by pro - Russian citizens.

Absolutely right. Referendums in Donbas and mobilization in Russia will enable Putin to conduct this as if Ukraine has commited an act of war on Russian territory.

Poor thing. Are you upset that Ukraine isn't paying by the rules that Vlad imagined before he started this war of choice? This is like sucker-punching women on the street and then complaining about it being unfair when you get a beat down from strangers.

They're going to nuke their fellow Russians? Doesn't Putin and his nationalist supporters think Ukrainians don't actually exist. Can't see that going over well with anyone.

Not at all. As a Swiss citizen I don't really care if NATO gets involved or not. What I care about is not lying that Ukraine is doing this single-handedly. Media should just admit and publish who and how from NATO is helping Ukraine with military strategy, so we all now what's what.
If you're talking about an attacked women - it's Donbas. About to get divorced from an abusing Husband Kiev and his best buddy AZOV. This is not your "education" through Western media, this is the bitter Donbas reality. How do I know? Family and friends in Donetsk.
