Exactly. If they are able to avoid getting cut much less fill the position, the job would certainly be a good stepping stone like Winnie says, but it would not cause anymore dominoes as some other previous poster alluded to.

The Cal job may not create new openings, but the impact of the CSU's not opening for students in the fall certainly will. Those coaches are on year to year contracts and some percentage of them are not going to be renewed. I suspect that most will not actually. This is going to drive people out of the profession.
Who knows how programs will be cut entirely when this ends? Will schools be forced to drop divisions?
