Frank Meza 2:53:10 at LA Marathon (70 years old) unofficial time (just finished)

Runner 1108 (Black Headband Guy) was referenced earlier in this thread. In the photo sequences near the Chinese Theater, he passes some time after the Greek Guy, the Woman in Black, and Meza.

To the extent people remember people they see on the course, he may have had the most contact with Meza. His splits seesaw between 5K and 30K with Meza's chip's splits.

1108- 20:29; 41:20; 1:01:42; 1:22:16; 1:43:00; 2:04:56

Meza- 20:50; 41:07; 1:01:40; 1:23:01; 1:43:03; 2:04:21

Most significantly, he was close to even with Meza at 15K, is behind Meza by quite a bit in the Chinese Theater photo sequences (where Meza is shown reentering the course), and is then ahead of Meza by 45 seconds less than a mile later at 20K.

two points:

(1) it is evidence that Meza was running much slower than those he is photographed near and/or has similar splits to (just like at Pasedena earlier this year);

(2) Black Headband Guy may be the most likely to have seen Meza along the course. I would guess that he blew by Meza on several occasions: right after 15k; somewhere between the Chinese Theater (11.5 miles) and 20k; and then again at 25k (I think they are photographed along with a wheelchair racer at the 25K timing mat.) This presumes that Meza was running much slower than BHG at all points on the course even though BHG had a late fade and crossed the finish line after Meza and his chip.

The Philly fan who had his cheating outed by LR had more defenders than FM. Is it because half of Philly's defenders were actually him or is it because this is way too close to World Record territory for those on LR whom lack a moral compass?

There’s other photographic and timing mat evidence of Frank Meza’s shenanigans in previous LA Marathons. In 2017 he gives up 53 seconds to a group of runners he’s pictured with (6 mile marker) in less than 0.2 miles. He’s pictured with A1116 shortly after the 6 mile marker (approximately 100 ft after).

In an earlier photo at the beginning of Echo Park Lake along Glendale Blvd Frank is captured running by himself with runners following him in the distance. This is about 0.2 Miles from the 6 mile marker. Runner one is wearing a white hat and singlet with glasses and blue shoes, A1049. Runner two is wearing a neon green singlet and dark shorts, A1116. In the photos you can see him blow by Frank in a few strides shortly after the 6 mile marker.

Correction, every single one of his defenders was him using multiple sockpuppets, this was proved by the Brojos. There was a particularly persistent troll as well.

No, but neither did anyone come on and say they'd seen some of the most notorious cheaters in LR history cheat, Litton, that Philly fella, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but Frank's 2015 LA Marathon was UNBELIEVABLE.

Frank Meza, 66 yo, dropped an 18:33 (20-25K WeHo to Beverly Hills) and 18:31 5K (35-40K) during blistering hot marathon conditions. The race was moved up 30 mins because of heat that year. 69 F at the start.

First of all, there are VERY few 65-69 age groupers (John Barbour ran 17:58 today in Westfield, Ma as a 65yo! He has an extensive resume) who can run in the 18's for a 5k, let alone 2 in the later stages of a HOT marathon.

Secondly, isn't there enough evidence now for someone to contact the LA marathon folks? Surely, someone can compile a clear picture (pun intended) of the evidence presented thus far. Splits, pics, no visible bib (isn't this alone a violation to be disqualified?) video, etc. Let them look over what has been presented, possibly check with the 2-3 participants who were close by, use their video and pics and come to a conclusion. Just asking...

I was agnostic early on, but this guy is DONE. There isn't just smoke, but flaming debris.

Truly awesome running, the easy to read list shows just how awesome. I think I read somewhere on the thread that the two 2015 marathons were only a couple of weeks apart, same maybe with the 2019 Half and marathon, someone else may confirm. in 2015, it's obvious that he cheated. the 18:34, 18:30 and 19:03 splits do not make any sense. the 19:03 split is on the hilliest part of the course, the 18:34 was preceded by a 25 minute 5K, and the 18:30 split (5:57 per mile) is followed by a 2k split at 7:00 per mile . no experienced marathon runner (particularly an age graded 2:09 marathoner) goes from running 5:57 pace between 35-40k to slow by over a minute and run 7:00 pace for the final 2k (which is slightly downhill).

w/ respect to derek, this is a huge opportunity for him, b/c it's not just the 2015, 2017, 2018, or 2019 la marathons, but there's a host of other races that he's cheated in... the numbers don't lie.

check out the splits from the la half marathon in october - posted in early april (page 7 of this thread) . a seasoned marathon runner does not run the first 1.5 miles at 6:38 pace, dial it back between 1.5-3.1 miles, to cross the 5K mat at 21:50 (7:24 pace), drop the pace to 6:32 per mile between 3.1-6.2 miles, dial it back to 7:09 per mile between 6.2-8.2 miles, pick up to 6:48 pace between 8.2-10 miles, and then run his fastest 5k (3.1 miles) between 10 miles and 13.1 miles at 6:31 pace. that just doesn't happen.

fm, come clean and move on. there's a group of high school kids (and alums) that don't know what to think, but, they can't ignore the numbers and the facts on the previous 35 pages. fm, you made this mess, it's now time to clean it up. you have no one to blame but yourself. do the right thing.

Check the post on page 27. In 2014 he had EIGHT sub 2:25 age graded performances. The first two races were fourteen days apart at 65 yo.
