An interesting bit of trivia, I took the suggestion of where someone said to count the number of times the Sole logo passes by on the treadmill belt to determine how fast Amy is moving at different points.

She is using a Sole Fitness TT8 treadmill that was gifted to her by Sole Fitness UK as part of her sponsorship. From the manual of the TT8, the flat top of the belt is 60 inches long with 3 inch diameter wheels at the ends. This gives an effective belt length of about 127 inches when you do the math.

At the 11:02:00 mark of the Sept. 6, 2016 live stream video where Amy is in full running pace, I counted that it took about 32 seconds for the Sole logo on the belt to pass by 20 times. This means at that time, Amy had the treadmill set to run at about 4.5 mph.

At the 00:43:40 mark of the Sept. 6 video where Amy is walking on the treadmill, I counted it took about 50 seconds to complete 20 revolutions of the treadmill belt. This means that her walking pace is about 2.9 mph.

Anyone want to check my math?

^Keep in mind that in order for Amy to have run 520 miles on the treadmill over the 7 days with each day being 20 hours, she would have needed to average 3.7 mph over the whole 7x20 hours. With the amount of off the treadmill rest taken as seen in the video counting as 0 mph, plus the walking at about 2.9 mph, plus already being behind in distance from the first day (~62 miles instead of 74 miles), I'm having a hard time believing she did actually cover 520 miles seeing as her running speed was only about 4.5 mph.

For the 12 hour Sept 6 an interesting thing to do would be to create a spreadsheet of the durations Amy spent off the treadmill (0 mph), walking (2.9 mph), and running (4.5). Then we could calculate what her average speed was for the duration and see if it is near the needed 3.7 mph minimum.

10 hours of each would be enough if she was doing this from the start.

Accounting for the bad first day would need to be a 11.5/8.5 split.

She looks very fresh in all the running photos in that montage. Where are the photos of her sweating and hurting and fighting to keep going when her body is telling her to stop? Like everyone else goes through when they run one marathon.

Just watched the 'Mud Run' video....surely this some sort of parody video? I was the funniest thing I've seen in ages and I had some genuine lol moments watching the clips. I'm am starting to that the whole Amy Hughes thing is some sort of parody 'stunt' runner.

The video on the Treadmill World Record Training is very revealing. It shows to me that she has a complete and utter lack of understanding of the type of training required for a 7 day treadmill world record attempt and is full of BS claims. Let's break it down a little:

Mileage varies between 100 to just under 350 miles per week.

That's quite a variation and I doubt very much that she was able to run 350 miles in a week. That sort of mileage would most likely lead to a significant overuse related injury (stress fracture, tendonitis, bursitis etc.) in even the most experience ultra / multiday athlete.

Focus on 'time on the feet' (early morning, trying to get a few hours early morning 5 / 6 times a week. Night times going on the treadmill). 3 Sprint Sessions Per Week

A focus on 'time on the feet' and then including 3 sprint sessions in your week is surely in conflict. No training programme would suggest that, and combining a rapid increase in mileage AND speed sessions would most likely be an expressway to injury.

Core and Strength Work 3 times per week. Half and hour - one and a half hours of 'hot' yoga?

Agree that it's great to add some sort of strength training however, I'm not sure that, given all the other training, she actually has the time to fit in 3 sessions of 'hot' yoga during her training day. Running in the morning for a few 5 / 6 days a week, plus running in the evening would mean that she has very little time left for any other training and that rest / recovery / refuelling would be the most important thing to do when not training.

Body Language

Interesting body language when she say's she ran nearly '350 miles in a week'. If you watch closely you'll note that she looks like she's suppressing a smile.

Body Composition

This is not a body shaming exercise so don't get me wrong here. Looking at her body composition I would say that she had a healthy body composition in the video. I cannot see how she could of lost 28 pounds (2 stone) during the challenge as claimed by Dave / Amy without having some serious health problems. Furthermore, a 28 pound loss in bodyweight would be very noticeable and she would look incredibly gaunt and ill at the end of the challenge. When you compare the body composition of the 'Training for the Treadmill WR' video to the clips of Amy at the end of the challenge, I struggle to see any noticeable difference between the two.

Verdict: I call this BS.

That would only be true if she was on the treadmill all 20 hours. But for a good portion of the time she is off the treadmill resting or doing other things and gets 0 mph. Those zeros really kill average speed and she would need a much greater proportion of running to make up for it.

Have you downloaded the videos from youtube? If so, how hard would it be to put the interesting or suspect bits into a fresh youtube clip that was about a minute or two long? The bits where she's leaning on the handles and some of the mat with the Sole logo moving would be interesting. Just suggesting this because it would make it easier for the average LRCer to get an idea of what's going on during the WR attempt.

I have downloaded all the videos. I've thought about splicing the Sept. 6 video and uploading it with just the interesting parts but I thought the links in the JustPasteIt that directly jumps to the interesting times were enough?

Depending on how Amy Hughes and Dave Keighley respond to all the questions from people now, I may just do it.

Obviously a recent purchase as there was no GPS data for the 53 marathons.
