An invading army who are killing civilians and terrorising the local community are telling people who to vote for, whilst holding a gun to them.
No idea which way that vote will go.
Why shouldn't this be fair? DPR and LPR are mainly populated by Russian speaking / pro-Russian inhabitants. Just like in Crimea, the military there is to protect the voters from Kiev and Ukrainian regular army and not to force them to vote one way or another. No need for that, Russian people with nostalgia for Soviet times live there :)
Yes, we know. Just like the Russians invaded Ukraine and murdered tens of thousands of Ukrainians in order to liberate them.
New record for dumbest thing ever written on the internet.
Just shows that you know absolutely nothing about Ukraine and Ukrainians. Typical dum*ass American, doesn't even surprise me at all. Too many people here don't know anything about Ukraine but what they have seen on Western media in the past year. Read up on history of Donbas and wheep.
Should we read up on how the Soviets committed genocide in Crimea in the 1940s, so any referendum they hold there is tainted by their stink?
Let's see if you can figure out which one this thread is about?
In no way am I trying to discuss the perfection levels of the US, since nothing is up for a discussion there. The US has commited hundreds of war crimes and nobody is arguing that.
The relevant part is, that since Americans are calling for sanctions against Russia, this could and should be applied to the US and the rest of the world as well. If some country has active troops outside of their borders, it should get sanctioned and isolated from the international community. Not only Russia - but also the US and any other country.

It's not fair as the Russians were only there to get rid of the nazis in 5 days.
They've spent the rest of the time killing and torturing innocent civilians. If they were that convinced why haven't they called for a referendum the last few years.
So the military is just there to protect the voters? 🤣🤣🤣

You are absolutely free to vote for politicians that support your viewpoints and want to put sanctions on the US (good luck with that!). Just as I'm sure you would have supported sanctions against Switzerland while they had soldiers deployed in Afghanistan between 2003 and 2008.

We also can read up on genocide of the natives in the North America and also the slavery. How deep do you want to go this rabbit hole?
Sometimes inbetween of your fierce outbursts of desire to stick it to Russia just think about people. Just normal, regular people in Donbas, who have been deeply unhappy for many years now. They have voted for Yanukovich, who has been illegally overthrown (you keep ignoring this fact).

Of course I ignore your rantings about Yanukovich being illegally overthrown because they're bullish*t.
You mean the genocide of "the natives in the North America" that was initially carried out by Europeans?
Or, the slavery that largely originated from Europeans and European countries?
"The centuries-old human crime of slavery within the framework of the exploitation of the American colonies by Europe demands recognition as well as non-material and material reparation,” argues the group. “This also applies to Switzerland, which as a social, economic, ideological and cultural area participated in and profited from this system from the 16th to the 19th century.”
A Swiss historian backed by dozens of public figures has launched a committee that makes the case for slavery reparations in the context of Switzerland. The supporters of the Swiss Committee on Slavery Reparations (SCORES) be...

Surely even you realises how stuoud this sounds.
Yes, imagine that. Because Ukraine is not gonna let them break away or join Russia otherwise.
Very simple situation: Donbas votes for a president with pro-Russian values. Kiev illegally overthrows this president and installs another one with Western values. Donbas then declares independency and solidarity with Russia, Kiev sends in AZOV soldiers to exterminate those people as an answer.
Now Donbas has protection from Russia and can finally split away from Ukraine, just like Crimea.
I don't know why is it so hard for you to grasp the fact, that certain parts of certain countries are ethnically and culturally incompatible to stay within same borders. This is nothing new and has happened many times throughout history. Yugoslavia is a good example. USA also has fought for independence from Great Britain.

Man... you really have to stop reading TASS if you want to understand what's happened in the Donbas over the last 10 years, because that fantasy you just presented is laughable.

Now that was a truly stupid post. Of course it is relevant, since it's absurd to pretend that any American has moral authority to judge Putin and his actions. Prostitutes do not give out lectures on virginity :)
Just admit that entire existence of the US is based on warmongering and gun culture, so you are ok with war crimes, you just don't like it when other countries commit them.
Energy crisis in Europe does indeed exist. Or how else do you call doubling of the gas and electricity prices and being warned by the government about possible regional black-outs this winter?
Logically, since the US is so opposed against the EU using Nord Stream 2, that it even threatened European companies with sanctions, the US must come up for a cheap alternative, doesn't it?
Ukraine is demanding help and sanctions against Russia, which hurts Europe. So surely they could come up with some dirt cheap electricity for the EU to offer something in return.
Switzerland has the least amount to do with this war, so you can leave your personal vendetta against me aside and focus on the issue at hand.
To be honest, since the US is not even intending to seriously help Europe with the energy crisis, I am convinced, that this was the plan all along - to financially ruin the EU.
No. It's not even remotely relevant to a discussion of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the only reason you (and some other posters) keep bringing it up is to try and distract people from the atrocities being committed by Russia and the abject failures of the Russian military.
Both are bad. You can’t call something an atrocity if our country did the same thing - if not worse - in Iraq. 100,000+ innocent civilians murdered. We call it “collateral damage” but it really was straight up murder.

"Illegally overthrown" is hardly a fair statement. Yes, there were no articles of impeachment outstanding. However, the man resigned and abandoned his office. When his masters in the Kremlin finished lecturing him on their desires, he tried to rescind. But honoring the rescission would have the effect of letting a person who left his post and said he was done reelect himself. So while the legal tangle was messy, it would have been messy to let him rescind as well. And it is in no way fair to say that a man who resigned and abandoned his post was overthrown.

2 thirds of Swiss people speak German, how about the Germans cone and invade and say they are helping the German speakers.
Then again your dumb arse country will roll over as they always do as long as they can have the jewels from the people who die.
