And Russia's involvement in Syria not only has propped up one of the worst totalitarian genocidal regimes in the world, Russians also committed plenty of war crimes all by themselves.
The Russian-Syrian coalition committed war crimes during a month-long aerial bombing campaign of opposition-controlled territory in Aleppo in September and October 2016. Using that amount of firepower in an urban area with te...
So the next time that C9 gets on a soapbox about the U.S. in Syria - who's there to fight ISIS, a terrorist group so revolting that even Al Qaeda and the Taliban hate them - remind him that the worst thing to ever happen to Syria is the Assad family, and the second worst thing to happen to Syria is Russia.
Pugacheva comes out publicly against the war, a possible turning point in the internal politics of the war.
For those not familiar with Russian/Soviet pop culture, Pugacheva is perhaps the most beloved pop singer in Russia, something like a combination of Streisand, Madonna, and Oprah, as far as fame and influence.
Russians sooner or later will see the truth of things. All those thousand of dead soldiers have families and relatives, who have neighbours and friends, and soon the synergy begins to gain force.
Just like when the Dixie Chicks came out vs. the Iraq War.
A turning point that ended that war, right
This post is a great example of how carmine9 cannot think logically.
The Dixie Chicks were one of many entertainers, along with many politicians, news and media personalities, and a large portion of the general public in the US to speak out against the Iraq War. We had huge public protests here. In Russia, on the other hand, it's a crime to speak out against their invasion of Ukraine. They can't even call it a war. So, for a popular Russian celebrity to finally speak out against the war, it's a big deal and could show a turning point in public attitude.
The United States has given Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a visa to travel to New York for the United Nations' annual gathering of world leaders next week with half the delegation Moscow requested, a Russian diplomat...
Looks like Ukrainians welcomed Denis Stefankov, the Russian appointed head of the State Bureau of Investigations to Melitopol by blowing up his car. Seems like nothing of value was lost… except maybe the car.
Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Service said “significant losses to personnel and equipment” were caused to a Russian tank regiment in the village of Skybyn, ...
Why is Putin ignoring how badly his army is getting destroyed, he isn't aware of it?
All that is left now is just how many Russians will be killed before this is over? I'll go 120,000
Russia will not gain anything this was a stupid mistake and Putin needs to be removed.
Putin and Trump believe the best response is to lie and deny reality. This huge blunder damaged Russian on many different levels and strengthened NATO.
Probably Trump cult members are saddened by Putins losses.
The formation of irregular, hastily-trained units adds little effective combat power to Russian forces fighting in Ukraine.
And, the UK says Russia likely lost four combat jets in the last few days as the remnants of the Russian Air Force take additional risks to support fleeing Russian forces.
Ukraine is also hitting targets in Russia,
On Friday, Ukraine reportedly struck the base of the Russian 3rd Motorized Rifle Division near Valuyki, just nine miles north of the Russia—Ukraine border. Russian officials did not acknowledge that a military target was hit but said one civilian died, and the local electrical grid experienced a temporary disruption.
And, Putin got chewed out by both India and China for being incompetent scumbags.
So, another bad week for Russia and Carmine. Here’s to many more!
RU keeps saying it is about to start an offensive but it's been days now. In the cold and mud. with more and more sophisticated weapons coming in. I'm starting to believe. Not there yet, because no one can know, but the odds are changing every day toward UKR.
You obviously have no primary sources at all. Who is telling you this stuff?
Russia is systematically dismantling the Ukrainian military's eastern forces, is what it keeps saying. Most of the remainder are surrounded within cities, unable to engage because the moment they show themselves they are pinpointed by drones and blasted with artillery.
Where are Bad Wigins and Krispy kremlin, they have run away from this site faster than Russian soldiers leaving Ukraine.
At least C9 is brave enough and willing to come back to defend his bizarre lack of reality.
Whoops. Ukrainian army just killed 13 civilians (2 children) in Donetsk. Also hit Sloviansk thermal plant in Donetsk region. Western media is surely blowing up about that :-/

What has emerged from the successful UA counteroffensive is that the Russian armed forces are not a single cohesive fighting force but several factions that are not under any sort of unified command and incapable of doing much more than sitting in one place and shelling small villages.
There are actually four distinct forces that comprise Russia's invasion force. Kadyrov leads a large militia of Chechens. His forces helped capture Mariupol early in the conflict. Kadyrov has been jockeying to run the entire show in Ukraine, but RU hierarchy sees him as a rogue figure who is valuable for his efforts in the war, but does not have the pedigree to be in charge of the show (or more directly, Kadyrov is Muslim and Russians hate Muslims). Then, there local forces drawn from Russian held separatist areas of Donetsk and Luhansk (DNR and LNR). Many of these soldiers were plucked off the streets and sent into battle based on a general mobilization order. They are some of the worst equipped and trained and are often used by regular Russia forces as cannon fodder. The most effective fighting force is the private militia the Wagner Group. They are well equipped and well trained. But they have suffered losses and recent video showed their leader recruiting convicts at a Russia penal colony. Finally, you have regular divisions of the Russian armed forces. They are poorly trained and poorly equipped (not quite as bad as the DNR and LNR forces). They are mostly peasants from the country side or from cities that were once industrial strongholds during the days of the USSR that saw their factories close upon the fall of the USSR.
What has become clear is that these groups do not work together. Instead of having a unified force of 100k+ in Ukraine, Russia has a small elite force of about 5,000 under Wagner control, a large force of Chechen fighters under Kadyrov, and a mish mash of RU forces and local partisans (and the locals they have compelled into service). The Kharkiv counteroffensive took advantage of the fact that Kadyrov and Wagner were in the south and the north was mostly conscripts and local partisans. When the offensive started, everyone in the north had no option other than running for their lives as no reinforcements were offered up from the south. While they have been able to finally fall back far enough to find defendable positions, RU forces have had their supply chains destroyed and have suffered huge loses. UA forces have crossed the Oskil River and are encircling Lyman, which will then set the stage for a big battle for Severodonetsk and then Luhansk, which would mean near total control of the north.
Russia has yet to mount a coherent military response and has resorted to bombing civilian infrastructure (dams, power stations, etc). Kadyrov has called for a mobilization of 1,000 troops from each province in RU to mount a force of 85,000 to send to Ukraine to try to turn the tide. But this may be too little too late as RU has suffered massive losses of equipment and is struggling to even counter UA air campaigns (RU should have had air superiority within weeks of the beginning of the war, but now the opposite may be coming to fruition).

You literally linked to a Western media article about it.
Yeah, the only Western one with this information. Any ideas why most news outlets are not publishing this, like they do, when Russia happens to hit civilian targets?

You're almost as bad at using the internet as Russia is a warfare.
Thirteen people were killed in artillery shelling on Monday in the east Ukrainian separatist-held city of Donetsk, the city's Russian-backed mayor said.
The Russian military said it had targeted Ukrainian forces in several frontline regions, claiming to have inflicted both military casualties and damage to military hardware
Kremlin-backed authorities in the east Ukrainian city of Donetsk said Monday that a strike by Ukraine's forces in the Russian-controlled city had left more than a dozen people dead.
Since C9 likes to bring up Syria a lot, remember that Russia killed over 3 times as many civilians in Syria as (U.S.-led) International Coalition Forces. And Russia's allies, the Syrian government, has killed 50 times as many.
