Putin needs to have Sergei Shoigu thrown out a hospital window or something. Shoigu has been lying to Putin about the competence and bravery of Russian soldiers since the beginning of this fiasco. And now he's made Putin look like an idiot in front of Chinese and Indian leaders that Putin is trying to suck up to. Can you imagine being told by India that you are a loser? Total humiliation for Putin. He's must be furious. I think Shoigu's days are numbered.
440 bodies exhumed from a mass grave in Izium and a suspected Russian torture chamber also found. 5 Russian installed officials across occupied territories were murdered. As I have noted a couple of times, the occupation is going to be harder for Russia than the invasion.
Modi, India's prime minister, criticized the Ukraine war to Putin's face today. Given China's frosty reception and Modi's bold criticism today, it appears that the BRICs (minus the R) are growing very concerned about the economic fall out from the war and inflation. For all the talk about the BRICs creating a non-aligned movement to challenge US/European economic and military hegemony, the BRICs are still very dependent on Western economies. A recession will probably hit the BRICs as hard if not harder than the West.

He is saying all these small businesses can just stop producing, stop working, and somehow not declare bankruptcy. Obviously incapable of thinking everything through to the end.
Germany is done, so EU is done. Total collapse is baked in the cake, but if Germany apologizes for backing the Kiev Nazi coup in 2014, and ever since, and starts paying reparations to Russia, then the freezing and starvation can be of a lesser degree of disaster.

Defenestration is a Russian speciality. I'm waiting for Putin to be thrown out a window.

Any country that buys weapons from North Korea is de facto not the future. Sorry mate.

Putin is very popular in Russia. Their most beloved leader ever. 96% of Russians will do anything he says. If Putin tells Russians to swab the poopdeck on the Moskva, they ask how much varnish. Deep love of Putin.
That said, you get bonus points for teaching us all, even the pro-Russians, what defenestration means. Great word, man. Just a great and poignant word.
Nice post! Keep posting the good or bad news. Everyone knows that there will be the occasional bad news. Don't be afraid of posting that too. The other side never posts bad news. That's the difference between us and them.
On our side people realize things won't always go the way we want. That's war. On the other side everything is coming up roses. And their flatulence smells rosy as well, so they think.
According to some Ukraine soldiers in the north east, the Russians haven't collected their dead since the beginning of the war. The Ukraine soldiers say if the wind is blowing from a certain direction, they can't stand the odor. War is hell on earth for those who have to go thru the worst of it.

Congratulations. I had to look up the definition of defenestration. New word to me. It fits the Putin administration.

I’m not embarrassed to admit that I had to look it up too. This Barbar fellow seems to be a high powered linguistical. Christ knows that we need more of such types.
Having had time to consider it now, I can’t say I’m pro-defenestration like the Russians. I’m not saying that I’m “above” throwing someone out a window, just that I think it’s an extreme solution to a problem. I mean I’m not going to go defenestrate someone just because they looked at me all crossways, you know?

Roy, you said it right. Putin has so much egg on his face, he'll never be able to wipe them off no matter how many towels his butler gives him. Having said that, who's to take his place in the future? There's no guarantee the next guy will be the second coming of Mikhail Gorbachev.

Fenestra is Latin for window. Everyone knows that.
You were pretending yesterday that Russia is not an enemy of the United States of America.
You failed to back that up. Instead, you went chickenpox on the tangents.
I asked you why Russia is your enemy and you couldn't answer that.
I can tell you why. To legitimize absurdly large military expenditure and to make absurdly large amounts of money for some people and their companies, the US has to have an enemy. For the role of this "enemy", Russia has been picked.
Oh so your point that they needed Russia to be the enemy to "legitimize absurdly large military expenditures"? But how did these clever and devious Americans talk Russia into playing along and attacking smaller Ukraine and killing civilians and torturing captives?
How did they convince Russia to act the "role of the enemy"?? I guess they are lucky because Russia seems to be a natural at "playing" the role of a disgustingly aggressive and cruel bad guy.

Of course. You have to know these things when you're a king.

Actually a pretty good question. For sure, Russia didn't want to allow American mid-range missiles in Ukraine and US Navy in Sevastopol. That would have been a sign of weakness and a national security threat for Russia.
So the US assisted with the coup in Maidan in 2014 to put a pro-Western president in charge. Russia received the message, secured Sevastopol and made sure Ukraine does not join NATO.
Interestingly Biden had Merkel promise not to use Nord Stream 2 if Russia invades Ukraine. Because the US knew, that Russia will have to.
I my opinion, Russia got played like a fiddle. And rightly so, because Russian government was to busy stuffing its own pockets instead of strategically planning ahead for at least a decade or two, like the US did.
The US did a great job of messing up Russia and Europe at a price of a few hundred bucks per capita. And, well, Ukraine...
So the US assisted with the coup in Maidan in 2014 to put a pro-Western president in charge.
No. The US did NOT assist with the coup in Maidan in 2014. Only morons and Russians believe such things.
Stranger things have been known to happen. Geopolitics is a thing. A hand full of people run, or try to run the whole world. It think that has been made clear in the last 7 months.
All the average Earthling can do is go along for the ride and hope it's not too bumpy.
