We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
It’s almost like you can get immunity from an infection, vaccine or combination of both. Of course that’s too rational for someone like carmine or adult in the room.
Older adults who are vaccinated against COVID-19 are significantly less likely to die or become seriously ill than those with natural immunity caused by previous infection of the disease, according to new research.
"While the incidence of COVID-19 infection was higher (6.7%) for vaccine recipients than previously infected individuals with natural immunity (2.9%) six months later, the rates of death, hospitalization and ED visits from all causes including COVID were significantly lower in vaccinated individuals."
The studies you're relying on are being deliberately misleading.
If you're an at risk category vaccination is the way to go.
Objectives. To assess the effectiveness of vaccine-induced immunity against new infections, all-cause emergency department (ED) and hospital visits, and mortality in Indiana. Methods. Combining statewide testing and immunizat...
In adults aged 60 to 79 years, the cumulative incidence of infections was higher in the vaccinated (3.2%; 95% CI = 2.9%, 3.5%) than the previously infected (1.9%; 95% CI = 1.7%, 2.1%) at 6 months (Figure E, section A, available as a supplement to the online version of this article at https://ajph.org). However, the rate of all-cause ED visits was lower in the vaccinated (4.6%; 95% CI = 4.3%, 4.9%) than the previously infected (5.7%; 95% CI = 5.3%, 6.0%). Rate of all-cause hospitalization was also lower in the vaccinated (2.4%; 95% CI = 2.2%, 2.6%) than in the previously infected (3.3%; 95% CI = 3.0%, 3.5%). All-cause mortality rate was similarly lower in the vaccinated (1.4%; 95% CI = 1.2%, 1.5%) than in the previously infected (2.2%; 95% CI = 2.0%, 2.4%; Figure E, sections B‒D).
Just because I am no longer in favor of broad vaccine mandates because most people have some form of immunity and protection against transmission is weaker doesn't mean they didn't make sense earlier in the pandemic (and still make sense in many settings).
It's entirely possible, and admirable to change your mind when faced with new data. It's not admitting defeat -- only if youre politically brainwashed do you think that's the case. But hey, this is the exact kind of boneheaded ideology that turned the Red Wave into a little ripple so I'm not gonna complain if you continue this laughable stubbornness. What a baffoon.

Why would anyone who has recovered from Covid and so has natural immunity need the jab (which is not vaccine)?

Because immunity is not permanent and it wanes. Got any more brain busters in that big ol’ head of yours?

It is laughable that you think science has ever had anything to do with the pro-vaxxer crowds messaging.
The COVID vaccine is entirely about profit. That's why they are desperate to force it on people who do not need it.
Approximately 95% of the people dying today from Covid aren't up-to-date on their vaccines, and three quarters of the people at highest risk for severe illness don’t receive Paxlovid. Vaccination & quick treatment save lives—we must continue to focus on reaching people with both.

The costs may be not worth it for a particular population but for many the vaccines have been saving lives and preventing people from serious health problems.

That's by far the most benign explanation, followed by depopulation, then "vaccine passports" linked to social credit scores and a Central Bank Digital Currencies, and finally trans-humanism. The people behind the "vaccines" control the fiat currency printing presses, so I'd say they are after a goal beyond mere profits.
I'm not familiar with this "worldwide non-covid deaths correlatd with employed people" talking point. Anyone have a reference for this?
To be as clear as possible "correlated with employed people" is the bit for which I'm asking a reference.
Start at 20:35 of the below video. To be more accurate it was those with group life insurance which you have to be employed to have and are generally considered a healthier population than the average. The group life population's mortality rate grew beyond the general population in 2021, which is very unusual.
