So you didn't / don't have to pay for higher education? Do you also have 6 weeks of vacation, like countries in Europe?
Either way, if you life is good, how come Russia is your enemy? Has it done something to you? Has it threatened your health care, your job, your home, your family or your freedoms?
Russia invading Ukraine for no justifiable reason, makes them an enemy of Western countries that Ukraine was drawing closer to. It's that simple.
I love how you just ignored the points about having to pay for higher education and not having 6 weeks of paid vacation. Another one is 2 years of paid parental leave, your government denies you that too.
Not Russians, buddy. Your own government makes your life worse than it has to be.
Let me explain it to you in schoolboy terms for you. Russia is a bully beating up a smaller kid. Turns out the little kid has a big brother who is a world champion in MMA. The big brother, not wanting to fight the bully, teaches his little brother MMA. The little brother goes back to school and beats the s**t out of the bully. The entire school cheers and the little brother is a hero.
Except the smaller kid is being built up against Russia by the bully - the self-proclaimed world champion in MMA. And this MMA champion already has abused the entire town. Nobody is cheering, everyone just wants some peace.
Whatever you're trying to do here is way above your IQ level, buddy.

No It's not. Russia is an enemy to Ukraine, but not more than that. Since most Americans have never heard of Ukraine before 2022, I do not see how this makes Russia an enemy. Please do not argue with me on this, since 9 out of 10 Americans asked to point out Ukraine on the map would point to Africa.
Also, to those saying, that China is your enemy: then stop buying stuff "made in China". Don't support your enemies :)
INCORRECT!
Russia is an enemy to all that is right - sovereignty of nations, self determination of people, truth, freedom, democratic principles . . .
People like you simply are incapable of understanding such things as principles and standing by people and nations who share principles when they are under attack.
The opinions of a tinfoil hat, and a guy that lives in Switzerland(or is it upstate New York?!?) are wonderful, but are worth less than a handful of spit. They also don't change the facts on the ground: Russia is in a military and political quagmire. And Putin is a war criminal.

You are making up statistics about whether Americans could place Ukraine in the correct general location, and you are obfuscating by suggesting it matters. Americans can care about aggression such as the Special Murder Operation without being able to recite may coordinates. And I doubt you have a reliable citation for "most" Americans not having heard of Ukraine before 2022.
If you don't see why Americans consider the invasion to make Russia an enemy, then that is a gap in your perceptive abilities. Russian is interfering with a country that desires to have closer relationships with the west and NATO, a defense organization to which the United States belongs. Americans are also aware of Russia's long-running interference with the US political process and its attempts to spread disinformation and create racial discord via social media. All of that is quite enough to make them an enemy.

People like you support invasion of other countries and threaten the sovereignty of nations and also democratic principles. US invasion in Iraq was illegal (no UN mandate) and also there were no nuclear weapons there. To add, US military killed over 60.000 civilians in Iraq.

Cheers.
Your opinions don't matter either. None of us here decide anything, that's why it's absurd to be stating that you have enemies. Your mother in law or your neighbour can be your enemy but not another country. What's going on is financial and geopolitical aspirations of your government and the 1%, don't parrot that.

Do you think Russia is headed for a bright and radiant future? They've screwed themselves for the long and short term.

I think it's not a stretch by any means. If your media needs to point the enemy out for you, otherwise you would have never heard of it, then it's not really your enemy, is it?
How many Americans do even know Georgia the country and not the state?
By the way, who has elected the US to be playing the worlds police? Isn't it time to finally take your troops home from Europe and mind your own business within the borders of your own country?

And that is Russia's business, isn't it? Btw, I'm not so sure about the bright and radiant future of the US or Europe either. Somebody will have to eat the inflation and it won't be the rich.

All those torture sites run by the USA are a nice touch too

1) I strongly opposed the US invasion of Iraq.
2) No 2) necessary - your entire post was blown up with 1)

Ummm . . . gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the future of the US will be a million times brighter and more radiant than that of Russia.

Supporting Israel in killing Palestinians and stealing their land must be also according to those US "principles".
Just a bunch of hypocrites jumping on the trend wagon of the media, that's all.

It doesn't cease being a stretch just because you say it isn't a stretch. As for the role of the media, I expect that it was the media that first alerted Americans in December of 1941 that Japan had earned the status of enemy. The media reports, individuals decide. The posts of carmine9 and some other Americans here show that people can make up their own minds and decide whether what Russia has done earns them enemy status.
It is hard to take you seriously when you write, as you did in a recent post, that a country can't be your enemy. Of course a country can be your enemy if it threatens your country or works against your personal or national interests. And yes, if people in other countries believe that the United States has threatened them or their national interests, I would expect them to consider the United States to be an enemy.
