Robert Young fakes run across America

What is with the weird, overly detailed anecdotes about Rob in this thread that paint him out to be a hero and insanely fast.

"We fought over the check but Rob won"

"He was of course too fast for me to keep up with"

And then that weird thing where he heard about food in the RV and just...abandoned his running partner to take off for the food?

Robert Young 3rd in TM20 in 8-48.46

So he did compete in the European Long Course Champs and came third in his age group there. So that is that question put to bed.

There are races/events that have the option to run self-supported or uncrewed. Next month, for example, I'm running the Vol State 500k in the "screwed" division, meaning I'm on my own. I prefer to run 100's the same way-- no crew or pacers.

The problem is that there's still an honor system at play. I'd like to believe the vast majority of us are honest people, but I don't doubt there are cheaters out there.

Good job Rob, don't let the haters hate.

Apersson and Kev, please answer this. Why did your boy fake a picture of himself on that riding team? That has been proven as fake, so there's no reason for you to need to go back and ask Rob. What is your opinion of why he did this?

And what about his 40 mile run through the desert unsupported in an impossible time? Was this possible because of his good nature or his difficult childhood?

Please do not post on any other topic before addressing these two issues which he has been caught lying about. Once we have your opinion on these we can continue discussing his demeanor and upbringing.

The Mojave story is quite a story.

But one note: The time stamp of the tracker is US Eastern Time I believe.

It confused me all the time.

I have been in touch with Rob's wife Joanna concerning the video of the RV. She claims it's possible Rob wasn't running and was inside the RV, because he was extremely tired and they were heading to a place to eat or rest. But they always return to the place where he stopped running.

Regardless, Rob is doing something extraordinary as a survivor of child abuse and deserves a place in the Guinness Book of Records. It's disgusting how some yankees are questioning him.

What this story proves to me is that they teach maths better in the UK than the US. Rob Young is actually competent with maths as the US representative of cheating, Mike Rossi, has repeatedly failed at maths.

been following this story with keen interest and haven't felt compelled to post, but please guys i really feel that the personal abuse is not necessary. there's a lot of new posters and possibly some youngsters.
