As far as congressional people like Jordan, they will leave congress rich and well taken care of for his “loyalty”. No need for fear of his district back home.

These Trump guys must be holding back laughter when people give them the hypothetical of what their actions will be like after the Dems get back in power. They will not let that happen.

Yes, but it still leaves what I find to be the interesting questions (the second one more so):

1) How SURE is a Jordan that they're going to eliminate democracy between now and 2028? Are they at essentially 100%? I think that I'd tend to doubt that. Maybe I'm naive.

2) How sure is a non-Jordan/arch-Trumper R that they're going to pull that off?

It’s a tragedy, and certain aspects of the conflict are unlike any other conflicts except possibly Turkey and the Kurds. But the scale of the violence isn’t unique in any meaningful way.

It occurs to me that the fact that a sane American can sincerely ask the highlighted question above in the year 2025 suggests that if we were allowed to teach literally ONLY ONE SENTENCE to our kids in school, it would be, "It can happen here."

Maybe just repeat it day after day, for 13 years.

There were 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza prior to 10/7/23.

Simple math indicates the Trump admin's best guess is that 400,000 Palestinians were killed in those 15 months (more or less....we know none were coming in or leaving in that period and it was difficult for babies to be delivered safely)

Well, the Houthis attacked the Yemeni armed forces and then about eight other countries and Al-Qaeda got involved in Yemen. The first Gulf War started because Iraq invaded Kuwait. The second one, the US invaded Iraq. The Syrian civil war started out of the Arab Spring protests and eventually devolved into a conflict between the Syrian gov (backed by Iran / Russia / Hezbollah) and about five different rebel factions (backed in part by the US / Turkey / Israel).

There aren’t accurate civilian death toll numbers for any of these conflicts (let alone age-specific numbers), but even conservative estimates put it at hundreds of thousands dead + millions displaced in each of them.

Anyway, idc. Trying to view the middle eastern political landscape in black and white is a zero-sum game. You’re obsessed with I/P, and that kinda sucks for you b/c the end result of all of this is just that the can gets kicked another 20 years down the road and this all plays out again next time violence boils over.

it's not the number of killed that makes people like newname so angry...it's that white people are doing the killing and not black people.

if black or brown or asian people kill millions more than we've seen killed in the levant...newnamers don't care. The only thing that matters is that the crime is 10000x worse when white people are doing it.

The irony of course is that they think Israelis are white Europeans when any photo of its army shows that's not the case. But facts nah.

Journalists Killed:
As of May 16, 2023, at least 17 civilian journalists and media workers had been killed in the line of duty since the Russo-Ukrainian War began in 2014

Gaza in 15 months (less in these numbers):

18,000 children killed by January 15, 2025,

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), at least 169 journalists and media workers were killed in Gaza, the West Bank, by February 7, 2025.

Not entirely correct, more American kids have been killed by fentanyl. Which will be ending soon. MAGA about to lay the smack down on the drug trade. It’s time for conflict in Gaza to end. enough is enough and we are ending it. you are welcome.
