So Trump is announcing that "the US will take over the Gaza strip, we'll own it" (after ethnically cleansing all Palestinians):
Notwithstanding the unreal cynicism of it, what "owning Gaza" would concretely mean is a merger of Israel and the U.S., and the U.S. permanently entangled in the Middle-East. Israel's problems would be the U.S.'s problems like never before, and the U.S. would be permanently associated with Israel in the eyes of the world.
Relatively ironic right after Trump got elected to put "America first" which I'm pretty sure didn't include settling a colony in the most conflictual land on earth...
