Two Russian prisoners were sitting in a gulag. The first one asks: How long do you have? The second replies: “Ten years”. “For what?” the first one asks. “For nothing!” the second responds. “You liar!” the first exclaims: “For nothing they only give you 5 years.”

What’s Putin’s biggest accomplishment? He has succeeded in turning the Russian army (self-proclaimed second best army in the world) into… the second best army in Ukraine.
As far as what reality is, Russia is still winning the war and still is in control of 20% of Ukraine.
Ukrainian army is worthless. The only thing holding it somewhat functional is... Western weapons.
So whenever you laugh about Russian army, just remember how the US troops faired against cavemen in Afghanistan.
Russia has now turned to Iran and North Korea for weapons. Pretty soon they'll be turning to the "cavemen" of Afghanistan for rocks to throw at the Ukrainians.
But, it does show how ignorant you are that you keep referring to the people of Afghanistan as "cavemen". Do you look down on everyone that doesn't have the same background as you? Are you even more racist than Carmine?
p.s. Didn't those same Afghanis kick the Soviets' a**es not too long ago?

Eye-opening, isn't? That there are more countries in the world that produce weapons aside from the US, right?
Ukraine has been turning to the US and GB for weapons solely, since it has nothing by itself. And even now, with all this advanced weaponry and intel, they still can do nothing, but shell the nuclear plant.
Twist it however you want, Russia controls 20% of Ukraine. The critical part, by the way. Eventually the patience of Western citizens will run out and they will be against Ukraine keeping Donbas by force, while Donbas doesn't want to be a part of Ukraine anyway. Weapon supplies from the West stop and Zelensky either runs to GB or hangs himself.
Your jealously of American exceptionalism is showing again.
To think that the US is exceptional can only someone who has never lived in Europe.
It is exactly the American jealousy of European lifestyle is why the US wants to disconnect the EU from Russian energy sources.
I myself have lived in California for a few years and can certainly say that it felt like a third world compared to Switzerland.
Come to Europe, live in Germany, Austria or Switzerland for a few years and I promise you, you will never want to go back :)
Every time I've visited Europe I've asked myself, "Could I see myself living here?" and every time I reach the same conclusion, "F*ck no!" I've turned down job offers in Europe because they would require living in Europe, and honestly, Europe isn't exceptional, most of the time it's barely tolerable. What's the last thing Switzerland invented, cheese with holes in it? Some of us actually want to be on the cutting edge, where creativity and genius are located. That's not Europe. It is America.
Top selling electric cars in Europe - America company.
Top selling cell phone companies in Europe - American and Korean companies (sorry Nokia and Sony-Ericsson)
European private space companies? None of note. Multiple American ones though. Has a European ever walked on the moon?
Operating system on your computer? Made in America.
Social media in Europe? Dominated by American companies.
What's the European equivalent of Google?
Why would I want to leave a place that invents more useful technology in a day than all of Europe invents in a year? I wouldn't.

That was a good reply to Lolly Masters. Now let's wait for his retort.
I liked your remark about holy cheese. There must be a lot of Catholics over there. LOL!
P.S. I'm Catholic so that was self deprecating humor.
P.P.S. If you can't make fun of yourself, then you should never make fun of others.
Throughout the Ukraine war, Western news outlets have mindlessly parroted the opinions of a ruling elite and overseen a public discourse that is often unhing...
“If we are speaking about clownery, it would be much more appropriate to touch on this topic in the context of the recent past of the former Ukrainian comedian V. Zelensky,” the Russian embassy sai…
If the Russian military can't invade a Jamba Juice, what credible threats can the Russian embassy make? "Don't make fun of Czar Putin, or we'll force you to drive a Lada!"

You are, as usual, failing (deliberately) to grasp how ridiculous Russia looks. Russia is actually buying rockets from North Korea. A "comeback" noting that Ukraine buys arms from the U.S. and Great Britain fails. The analog to Russia buying rockets from North Korea, would be if the U.S. were forced to buy rockets from Venezuela to support an invasion of the Mexican state of Baja -- that hypothetical, absurd and unlikely as it is, would far more accurately illustrate Russia's situation.

No twist needed whatsoever. After six months of a "special military operation" to invade and occupy Ukraine, Russia has captured 20% of the country. That fact that you stated is all that is needed to assess the capabilities of the Russian military. No twist needed.
We shall see if the rest of your wishful, eager speculations and predictions -- support for Ukraine is halted, Zelensky runs away from Ukraine -- come true. Your success rate to date is low.

Even better, he was using the same 20% statistic 4 months ago. The only conclusion I can draw is that Russia has made no territorial gains in the last 4 months, and now appear to be losing ground around both Kherson and Kharkiv.

Given that Biden is president for two more years and military support for Ukraine still enjoys significant bipartisan support in the US, the idea that weapons flow to Ukraine will dramatically dry up in the short term is just lolly's wishful thinking. In fact, as the war progresses, it is increasingly clear that Putin's threats about the consequences of Ukraine receiving more powerful weapons are empty. Look for more & better weapons flowing into Ukraine, not fewer.
The only real way Putin can effectively escalate and make good on his threats is by formally declaring war, but that would dramatically increase his political risks in Russia. He's managed messaging thus far by framing what's happening in Ukraine as serious, but not a really big deal. He's basically telling people in Moscow and other urbanized power centers that they can go about their lives "as normal." Putting the nation on war footing fundamentally changes than message and would more likely force Russians to truly ask themselves whether Putin's invasion was wise. Putin doesn't want people to ask questions unless he feels that he can dictate the answer.
