"According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, prices for housing are 168.45% higher in 2024 versus 1989 (a $168,450.89 difference in value). Between 1989 and 2024: Housing experienced an average inflation rate of 2.86% per year. This rate of change indicates significant inflation. In other words, housing costing $100,000 in the year 1989 would cost $268,450.89 in 2024 for an equivalent purchase. Compared to the overall inflation rate of 2.66% during this same period, inflation for housing was higher."
In inflation adjusted terms, housing prices have increased by a total of 7%. This is different than tripling which would be a 200% increase.
In a campaign fundraising email, Trump claimed that he “nearly escaped death” and that Biden was “locked & loaded ready to take me out.”
An intelligent electorate would quickly identify this as pathetically way out of line and disqualify this candidate as a blatant liar. Trumpism is NOT an indictment of Trump! It is an indictment of US citizens intelligence.
Uber-progressive Portland, Ore., just kicked its soft-on-crime, cop-hating district attorney to the curb: Manhattan, take note. On Wednesday, Multnomah Count...
McGovern then pulled out a House rule book and asked if his admonishment was based on a principle in Jefferson’s Manual that says: “In Parliament, to speak irreverently or seditiously against the king is against order.” “Is that’s what this is about?” McGovern challenged.
“Take down his words,” she said. “Mr. Speaker, I demand that his words be taken down.”
“Maybe they want to distract from the fact that their candidate for president has been indicted more times than he’s been elected,” Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) said of his Republican colleagues.

Rick Scott of FL wants to take over as senate repub leader when Mitch steps down
Scott has the longest criminal record in the senate so I'm sure the Republicans will respect that and give him the job.
Scott was part of a multi-billion dollar fraud during his career. Of course he was. Republicans admire and seek out criminals to lead them. Over and over again.
"During Scott's 2000 deposition, he pleaded the Fifth Amendment 75 times.[37] In settlements reached in 2000 and 2002, Columbia/HCA pleaded guilty to 14 felonies and agreed to a $600+ million fine in what was at the time the largest health care fraud settlement in U.S. history."
Richard Lynn Scott (né Myers; born December 1, 1952) is an American attorney, businessman, and politician who has been the junior United States senator from Florida since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he was the 45t...
I always scroll right past this thread. I figured I would click into it for my first time since it has over 3K pages.
From my perspective, the Biden administration threatened my livelihood during the COVID fiasco (I work in the defense industry). It was DJT's appointees to the SC that saved my job.
I wanted DeSantis as the nominee...I got DJT.
The option is binary from here on out. I choose Trump. Everyone else needs to go check their mental state if you are voting Biden in 2024. You are voting for a collection of incoherent imbeciles that has a man with late stage dementia as their figurehead. Please, please, please - for the rest of humanity - don't vote for the older guy.
You’re not new to this thread. You idiots are the reason why I voted for Biden. I can’t wait until you are all gone.

You guys just went to far, that’s the problem. You came out swinging with Trump being a Russian agent, when any common sense folks knew from the first mention of it that it was complete bs.
And you clung on and on and on, then pivot to the next and the next. And the next and the next.
You could have a million “nexts” and you can never win that fight, because you were flat out wrong to begin with. You wronged Trump voters from the initial moment with complete horseshlt, and then that filtered to their children through schools. you made it personal.
Your best move now is to surrender. suck it up. Realize your inadequacies. Quit making up crap that nobody cares about and act as if it’s some momentous moment, like this stupid court case. They don’t even have a crime stated yet, and it’s going to a bunch of nut jobs in your camp.
Your side drew swords first w Russia, and basically looked forward to another Ruby Ridge moment at Mar a Lago.
like, for real, wtf are you guys thinking? how do you expect anyone to respect you, least of all Donald Trump? In Nov 16, we just voted. you went off the rails

They still see him as a RINO though. He'll need to make a risky sacrifice and publicly worship Trump to get the job.
What I find puzzling about Rick Scott as a Floridian, is the fact that he has repeatedly said he wants to go after Social Security and Medicare. He is one guy that hasn't tried to hide it. And when I say go after, he want to gut it. He is a the typical white billionaire calling things like this "entitlements" even though the middle class has paid for these things their whole working lives.
The only think I can conclude is that the tribalism and cult-like adoration of the Orange Turd is so strong that the GOP voters are totally OK with it. Slashing these two things would be a kick in the nutz to the GOP voter but the love for owning the libs is just too strong.

I have to admit that 90% of Noyankee's posts I don't read and quickly skip for obvious reasons. But I am thankful that he shares his thoughts. Because occasionally when you decide to read one you are reminded to how the Red Cap Trump rally goers brains work. What they are thinking. How they view things. It is very insightful. I don't know any Trumpers like this in real life.
Scary indeed. But helpful to know.
It reminds me of two 9 year old boys playing at recess and arguing whose Dad can beat up the other Dad.

60% of the money the government spends goes to pay for entitlements.
Only stupid people think these programs are just people getting the money they paid into them back.
