I gave everybody a program of maintenance, with one session per day only. The line is : general resistance without high intensity (so, no tests for Aerobic Power), a lot of Hills from short (60-80m sprin at max intensity) to long (300-400m at submaximal intensity with 4'/5' recovery) for training the strength endurance, and, once every two weeks, one "tempo" of 6-8 km at max possible speed (like a competition).
Without knowing when the normal activity and the competitions can start again, we need to maintain a level of shape of 80-85%, so in two months of specific training is possible to reach the best personal shape again.ù
This is what road runners do. Different is the situation for track runners, who probably can start their activity 1 or 2 months before road runners. They are in almost normal training, with the goal to be ready for the end of June.
Mr. Canova, What effort level would you best compare the "submaximal intensity" of the 300-400m hills to?
