I'm actually 100% with Rojo on this.
For the most part, this site is full of fantastic people. The training threads are very positive and supportive. If you ask an honest question, you're likely to get an honest answer (or a lot of honest answers).
Do people rip on pro and elite runners? Of course. Just like fans of any sport rip on elite athletes. That's what fandom looks like in just about any context.
Do people talk about women's bodies? Yes, and probably more than about men's (though they do talk about men's bodies). As Rojo acknowledged, that's probably the hardest issue regarding moderation, especially with younger runners. But it's a huge part of the sport. Sexual comments get pulled pretty quickly, as they should, since they have nothing to do with running. But running, like all sports, is about what bodies are capable of doing, so I don't think it's inappropriate to talk about bodies.
Racism/misogyny/etc.: I think the bad stuff gets pulled very quickly. But people obviously disagree about what the bad stuff is. My view is that comments whose only purpose is to harass or offend are the ones that should be pulled (and they are!). On the other hand, if someone is expressing an earnest opinion about an issue, even if you think it's very wrong, then you should just explain why they're wrong. Or ignore them. Anything else would put LR in the position of policing the correctness of ideas.
Incidentally, one thing I don't see AT ALL is that LR is a right wing site. I don't think I see any threads where political issues come up and there isn't a range of views on display. And just based on demographics, I think it would be pretty surprising if the user base doesn't lean left.
