Daily Mail points out how filthy Salazar is, how Farah is arm-in-arm with Salazar and how UKA and Cram are guilty of white-washing the whole stinking affair.

About Farah's time with Alberto Salazar. About what he knew, or even suspected. About those two missed drugs tests prior to the 2012 London Olympics. About infusions. About Galen Rupp. About an investigation that wasn't. About the continued employment of a man we now know corrupted his sport.
It is no longer old ground, not in the context of the four-year ban announced on Tuesday for a coach who helped set Farah's career on its meteoric trajectory.
Farah is a national hero and icon who has never failed a drugs test, and for that reason has previously been able to dismiss doubts over his association with Salazar as mischief-making or worse.
In this, he was helped by some useful idiots. Nothing was proven, only alleged. It was a groundless inquisition. Yet the verdict of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) changes it all, damning in its detail and evidence.
Trafficking testosterone, interfering with the doping control process, administering prohibited IV infusions, giving athletes medication unnecessarily, some of which may even have been dangerous.
For a coach, this is as dirty as it gets. And Salazar was Farah's guide as he rose to become the greatest long-distance track runner on the planet. Too right there are questions to be answered, too right there are threads that must be tugged.
Not just around Farah's involvement, but that of UK Athletics (UKA), too. Farah can maintain his innocence and USADA cast no aspersions on individual athletes.
It is different for UKA and their performance director Neil Black. Salazar was perceived as a miracle-worker with Farah, who improved incredibly as a part of his Nike Oregon Project.
As a result, Salazar was welcomed into the UKA fold. He was a paid consultant to their endurance programme from December 2013, he was still in their employ when the allegations that form the basis for this investigation surfaced in 2015 and, like Farah, only parted company when the USADA case became real in 2017.
It was UKA, however, that made Salazar part of their process and gave Farah and other athletes the green light to continue working with him two years after the initial allegations. Black's position is surely untenable, given these circumstances.
UKA conducted their own investigation into Salazar but what a lame affair that now appears, given the forensic nature of Travis Tygart at USADA.
The man who brought down Lance Armstrong led a four-year probe into Salazar's methods. The inquest at UKA was managed by the 'oversight group' and they lived up to their name, finding no reason to lack confidence in his training programme. Given what we now know, that is some oversight.
Yet what should we have expected? The UKA investigation was led by their president Jason Gardener and board director Sarah Rowell. The best that can be said was that it was an in-house job with all the cosy association implied, the worst that it was a surface-scraping whitewash.
'The Performance Oversight Committee's own investigation in 2015 was restricted to the interaction of the Nike Oregon Project with Mo Farah, and was not an anti-doping investigation,' UKA announced on Tuesday.
Well, it should have been. The allegations were out there and needed to be taken seriously. Instead, UKA put a couple of insiders on the case who came up with nothing that was not self-serving and shallow.
UKA could have asked more, and better, questions than they did. Could have gone to the sources, dug deeper with the investigators. They turned up nothing and were happy with that. In both senses of the term, they didn't want to know.
Farah, too, failed to ask the leading questions. Throughout, the individuals, the executives and the sport have heard only what they wanted to hear. Again.
Even Lord Coe, admirably ferocious on Russian doping, hopelessly compromised on the Nike Project, defended his good friend Alberto. He stayed a company man to the end. 'Don't run away with the idea that the Nike Oregon Project is a hole-in-the-wall, circa 1970s Eastern Bloc operation,' he said. 'It's not.' But it was.
Yet it is Farah who will take the greatest reputational hit, Farah whose association with a notorious doper — a coach who conducted experiments with testosterone to see how much could be ingested before a test was failed — leaves an asterisk next to his name.
unquestionably, he improved under Salazar's tutelage, at the centre where he operated, and his greatest achievements came when the two were a pair. Legitimately, it can be asked if Salazar's methods were dirty with other athletes — Rupp was alleged to have been on testosterone since the age of 16 — why would he treat Farah differently?
Was he simply exceptional from the outset? Not really. Farah improved enormously in Oregon, like many others. He can react furiously when questioned about those years — or about the infusion of a substance called L-carnitine he received before the 2014 London Marathon — but such challenges are unavoidable now.
'As I've always said, I have no tolerance for anyone who breaks the rules or crosses a line,' Farah insisted on Tuesday, but that is not entirely true, either.
Salazar was coach to Mary Slaney, who tested positive for testosterone in 1996. Farah claimed he had asked about that when he joined Salazar's team, only to be told the pair were not working together at the time. A simple internet search would have revealed this as a lie. Salazar is on record stating he was Slaney's coach. If Farah was as intolerant of rule-breakers or line-crossers as he says, he would have looked beyond one man's word.
Yet while Farah is the headline name in the fall-out from this scandal — his achievements the first line on Salazar's tainted c.v. — this is bigger than just one man, or one infusion, or one doorbell that couldn't be heard when the testers called. This is also the story of a sport in denial, of easy excuses and weak thinking. At the time when it was first said that Salazar was dirty, the reaction, as ever, was to shoot the messenger.
Steve Cram, voice of BBC athletics and as such a man who could have sought access to Panorama's files, denounced the questioning of Farah as a witch-hunt. It became a familiar theme.
'It's hard not to get caught up in the witch-hunt,' wrote Hannah England, a Team GB colleague of Farah's. She was, she said, 'waiting for the absolute truth to come out'.
This of course presumed Panorama's investigation into Salazar wasn't, already, the truth — which it was.
This presumed that to allege anything at all was a form of persecution and not a legitimate line of enquiry, aimed at delivering cleaner sport.
Armstrong was the subject of a witch-hunt, too, if you recall. As were steroid abusers in Major League Baseball — and the Russian state.
Also quick to raise the standard of empty denial, Christine Ohuruogu, always ready to side with a colleague forgetful enough to miss the odd test or three.
'Most athletes I talk to know it's a load of rubbish,' Ohuruogu said of the allegations against Salazar, a cavalier take on the principle of evidence-based knowledge.
And while the sport lined up to dismiss investigations based on little more than hearsay from within their social circle, it was easy for Farah to escape scrutiny. So protective was the industry of Farah that journalists from outside the small circle of athletics writers have in the past been prevented from attending his press conferences in case they ask awkward questions — and prevented by invited journalists, too, which is shameful.
Those cosy days, those soft landings, are surely now over. There can be no easy rides from here.
It is hard to see a future for those who brought Salazar to UK Athletics, and it is hard to see Farah's quirky Mobot celebration without thinking of the darker force behind.
Worst of all, this week in Doha, British athletes such as Dina Asher-Smith are pushing themselves to fresh heights in search of glory.
The verdict on Salazar strikes at the heart of their sport and makes sceptics of every observer. That is why the pursuit of the truth around doping should never be confused with a witch-hunt.""
