Anyone from the old guard ever tried the Converse World Class? They blew 3 toe nails off me. I got them as promo when they came out and regret every meter I raced in them.

Nike is trash unless you pay for the very top model.

Lots of Brooks haters on here. For me, Brooks has been just fine. I like them and have had good success with them for training.
I have had great success with the Brooks Pure Flow....some of my favorite shows!!! Good fit, nice drop, flexible but durable sole, great foam....and now they seem to be discontinued?!?!
Does Fleet Feet own Karhu?
Everyone is hating on Brooks for their brand image...which is strange criteria. I actually really like Brooks' Cascadia-- a good shoe for dirt road running (which is the majority of my marathon training). I ran my 5k PRs in Adidas spikes. I trained in Asics and Nike in college. I liked Nike out of the box but they would only last a few weeks at 80-100mpw. Asics seems to hold up better.
The worst? I hated Saucony. The shoes seemed flimsy and clunky all at the same time.
Was there ever a shoe by Nike called the Boston? I think I ran in such a shoe around 1977 but can't exactly remember....bottom line a great light weight training or racing shoe.....

Spira, the original spring shoe!
So what we're saying here is that pretty much every single shoe is simultaneously hot garbage and the one that we'd happily wear for our next event.
I don't know the worst but the best by far in my opinion is Mizuno. They are not only the highest quality they are best designed for a highly pleasurable running experience. Not all Mizuno models are good however.
Regardless of brand, how many times once we find a shoe that works, the maker next version doesn't? That's the absolute worst. We need a Henry Ford of shoe owners who will build its Model T forever!
nike stuff has been good for a while, Nike and Salomon for trails, usually. I dabble every so often with something from brooks or ASICS, But they are kinda lame never seem to offer anything exciting. So In summation brooks and ASICS blow

When I first came back to running about 7-8 years ago I really like the whole Pure line. The Connect was my preferred model until they were discontinued. Went with the Flow through a few model years where they changed way too much from version to version. They were never bad but sometimes the changes never made any sense.
It’s a shame because Brooks fit my feet better than every other brand, but they don’t anything that fits what I like currently. Their 2 new Hyperion models sound interesting but the Elite is over priced if you ask me.
Currently looking for my new “go to” daily trainer. Skechers Gorun 7 Hyper and New Balance Propel are both working pretty well for me right now. The Skechers is easier to go tempo in but the Propel feels really nice when cruising.

Got all the way to my race only to realize that I left my shoes right were I put them to ensure that I would not forget them. Too far to drive back and too cheap to spring for another expensive pair for 1 race, I went to Walmart. Don’t judge! Picked up a pair of these and ran a 1:30 PR and was still ale to walk the ex day. I call that a win. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it,

Easy. Brooks. I've been running for 45 years and have tried all the brands. The ones that seemed to work for me:
Saucony
Nike
adidas ('80s)
New Balance ('70s & '80s)
Hoka (recently)
Asics
Converse Equinox only ('80s)
Brooks suck.
Never tried Puma or Reebok

Not for the last two years.
Lived in the Netherlands for a little bit. Always wondered what the price point shoes at Decathlon were like. Good store overall

Never tried them but I would NOT let anything on my feet that is advertised with "up to 1h runs".
